First off i don't think the UK would give up it's sovereignty to become a state.. you wouldn't enjoy the change in justice system or method of governing... Second.. the UK can CLAIM America back all it wants... i don't think you have the military muscle to make it stick... and i believe our ancestors made it perfectly clear how we feel about self rule.. but if you failed to get the message we will repeat... why is so much of the world trying to come up with some kind of a plan for "World" government?!?! people that have to cross an ocean to get to a place probably shouldn't be making decisions as to how that place should be run.

The UK is made up of several nations
Scottish, English, Welsh, Irish, Cornish, Manx. to name a few
No, it is unlikely, that America would be able to take over without a fight, And retailation would be possible without a UK army ever leaving UK soil. After all there are people of Irish and Scottish decent dating back over 300 years, already ready on US soil
It is more likely one day one government will rule the whole planet, With labels like States or Countries forgotten, eventually

Nah. I doubt it. There probably won't be anymore additions for a long time. If anything, Puerto Rico will probably become a state. But that is not entirely likely either.

being a brit who lives permanently in yank-land I would say no. neither of them want it- history dictates it and britain is distancing themselves from the policies of america and europe.
