I have some old stamps and I do not know their worth (somewhere between 34 and 39 cents).
I understand that with forever stamps, they are always good even when the prices change. Are these forever stamps? Can I still use them since there is no set value associated with the stamp?

Those are not Forever stamps. The stamps you have are the type that used to be issued when postal rates increased. Since they Postal Service couldn't know for sure what the new postage would be, they issued stamps without a value listed. They are worth whatever the postage went up to. You'll have to check with the Post Office what the value is. It may be available online. They are still usable, but only for the assigned value.

any US stamp is good for postage in the US whether or not it has a denomination on it or not

however, you can not use stamps without a denomination on them to send mail overseas, or to Canada or Mexico due to treaties that do not allow mail to be sent to those areas without an amount printed on them

the stamps you have without a denomination, I would take them to the post office and find out how much they are for, as if they are NOT 41 cent stamps you will have to get additional postage to make up the difference

The forever stamps will have "Forever" written on them, that's when you know they are forever stamps. If you've had the stamps for a long time, it's not likely that they are forever stamps.

They have a value it just isn't printed on the face of the stamp. The forever stams say "forever" on them - at least the ones I bought did.

Take them to your post office and ask their face value. Then you can use them and get the proper denominations to send your letter.
