several have said it with their eyes. the blinking is in morse code. the strain of cognitive dissonance can be obvious at times. the army has a well trained perception management corps.... i am not joking. i don't think they call it that though.

my point is Generals etc. don't often say what they really think. there is a perception to maintain. When Israel was bombing Lebanon the IDF wouldn't report Israeli casualties. there was a poll among Israelis that showed they thought Hezbollah was being more honest. the families of the soldiers had to find out from Hezbollah if their family member was dead or not. this is standard... it is uncontroversial.

The only time our military does poorly is when unqualified elected officials (Congress and Senate) attempt to over extend their authority, Vietnam is a prime example.
