liberals/progressives would like to impose a carbon tax which will oppress poor people...poor can't affored "green" technologies so their taxes will always be high, but the rich can buy "green" technologies decreasing their taxes...just like the many loop holes the rich people get now...poor countires in africa who have coal and oil to produce cheap electricity for their people are meeting opposition from "green" groups in the west who want poor nation in africa to buy green technologies from them instead of letting africa develop on their own...they want africa to be dependent on western nation...

The Earth naturally produces more greenhouse gases than any thing humans could produce. Sad reality is we could tax these "evil rich companies" then it would hurt the poor by climbing retail prices and more products being made over seas. Meaning less jobs for the US. Which wouldn't help much since other nations, pollute much worse than the US.

On the other hand, if global warming continues, the poor will be even poorer because their countries will suffer droughts, floods, hurricanes, snow storms, and unlike developed countries, they will not have the money to deal with these problems. There will be famine after famine.
Do you remember the tsunami that happened 3 years ago today? It killed a quarter of a million people. Now imagine devastating disasters like that happening more often.
Higher prices will hurt the poor in the short run, but in the long run they will be better off because they won't, you know, DIE.
+ Please read what I wrote. I did NOT say that tsunamis are caused by global warming, I said that natural disasters are caused by global warming. I gave the tsunami as an example because this is the third anniversary of such a horrific event. Global warming will not cause more tsunamis, but it will cause more natural disasters with similar or greater consequences for poor nations.

While your question is ill-formed, I happen to agree that there is a money motive behind the global warming issues.
The guys who push this issue to the forefront from the science community accepted government grants to research the causes of global warming. So they pick an easy target - industrial pollution. Forgetting that many warming and cooling cycles were noted before widespread industrialization, but we lacked the technology then to accurately measure and report it.
Anyway, the research trolls who have a grant have to report something to keep the bucks flowing. So they theorize a link between industrialization and global warming and then apply for a follow-up grant to find "the smoking gun" that shows without doubt that greenhouse gases cause global warming.
Let me be clear. I also want to remove greenhouse gases from the air, but for HEALTH reasons. The link between lung disease and pollution is WELL established. So if you want to have clean air, clean up air pollution. But don't attribute your goals to the wrong reason.

The poor can't afford to pollute as much as big corporations either, so any taxes, which none have been proposed against individuals anyway, will be on corporations who pollute. Green technologies are not neccessarily expensive anyway, and with incentives to develop and market them, they will become even cheaper.

What you're actually asking is "Why don't people agree with me because I know I am right?" and my answer is "Because no one can understand what you are talking about because you have the apparent bias of a bridge troll and the literary coherence of a cocker spaniel. Global warming makes Jesus cry, and so do you. The fact that you exist is a burden on my soul.
