is the possilbilty of having your mail read more of a violation than the taxes the Democrats impose? To me, excessive taxation creates serfs and slaves in America.

...rather than "President Bush"? They still refer to former President Clinton as "President Clinton." Do you think it is a sign of disrespect?

This has been the government´s response to the many, many outcries of concerned citizens of South Africa.
With white South Africans (I use this term for overseas people, most South Africans, who I know, like to be refered to as South Africans, and not "white" South Africans or Europeans, or 2nd or 3rd generation Europeans etc.) being the major recipient of crimes it is obvious who the government is referring to, when it says leave the country. Is there a subtle movement to get the "white" South Africans out, but done slowly and covertly so as not to alarm the overseas community and scare off investors?
What do you think? Let me know, thanks everybody.

Doesn't it occur to Congress that the easiest thing we can do to minimize our losses in Iraq is to make amends with the International Community - and what better gesture than to remove Bush and Cheney from office for unilateral behavior in an international situation. We can turn to the UN who has people that can better address the Iraqi situation and we can work with them toward a peaceful end. I would think that now that Hussein is gone that Bush could feel proud of his accomplishments as President and could see this as a viable solution and step down voluntarily - don't you?

To my knowledge, cities and towns do not have elections for the chief of police. They are usually chosen by the mayor and/or city council. Yet in most counties, there are political elections for the office of sheriff. Why is there a difference between the two? Why do not the county’s government choose a sheriff among a candidate pool and leave it up to voters who might not be privy to how the office functions?

I would appreciate well-thought out answers. Thanks in advance.

Senator Obama has this problem, among others. Do you think he could overcome this "bump in the road" and win anyway? What about his two years as a student in a Muslim school in Indonesia when he was a young child, or his revelation that his maternal family is distantly related to Jefferson Davis, President of the CSA during the Civil War? Isn't that a riot, that Obama is related to Jefferson Davis, of all people?

I moved to Canada recently after spending almost ten years in a country with private medical care and I have to say that the care Canadians recieve is absolutely disgusting. Emergency wait times of up to 10 hours, waiting 6 months to see a specialist or weeks for an MRI, a third of the country without a primary care physician. Could things be much worse??

Don't get me wrong, I believe that everyone deserves healthcare and that it should be a right but I think there has to be a point where we draw the line. I mean, is it really fair for someone who has worked hard for years to have to go behind some lazy criminal or unemployed person who pays no taxes?

This alone makes me want to leave Canada because I am terrified of becoming ill.

What do you think?

According to James Madison, "Father of the Constituion", who only happened to be an author of the Constitution, "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents."

So, how do we reconcile the current popular wisdom that it is the government's job, with the fact that nowhere in the Constituion is this authority granted to the Federal government?
