Well, I have to do a 500-word essay which is pretty short, but about how our represntative democracy is becoming more like a direct democracy through the use of electronic communications. I guess the idea would be how people are more easily getting their opinions out their through radio, TV, the Internet, blogs, etc electronic communications. I just can't find a place ot start, or much to write about. Any ideas?

When I ask people at work, school and even have political discussions with people in general no one has ever heard of the Bohemian Grove, the Bilderbergs, Council on Foreign Relations or the Trilateral Commission. I have heard people say you are some kind of "conspiracy theorist" if you even want to discuss these groups and their influence on American politics and policy. Since their membership lists contain Presidents(from both parties), political leaders, media figures and heads of multi-billion dollar corporations shouldnt there be some type of dialoge in the press about this so at least the average person knows enough to formulate their own opinion. I would like to hear from people on all sides of the political spectrum. Why this lack of open discussion in the media, in school, in general? If there is no conspiracy or any hidden power manipulation why the strict policy of silence this is America we should NOT be ruled by secret

the Big Lie theory basically says that if you repeat a lie often enough, it well appear to be the truth.

Hitler: Jews are the enemy
Bush: Muslims are the enemy

One of my veteran friends hates Jane Fonda and says that vets were spit on because of the anti-war movement that folks like Jane and others participated in. However, when I tried to find examples, real examples, photos, etc, all I could find was urban myth assertions. Does anyone have personal direct knowledge or proof that this occurred?

"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda." —President GW. Bush,N.Y., May 24, 2005

Unnamed editorial appeared in at least four different newspapers across U.S. Nothing unique about that huh? Well, the first parapgraph in every one of them is exactly the same:
"One of the smartest things President Bush did to reduce recovery costs in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita was to suspend Davis-Bacon Act rules in the hardest hit states. But Congress is frantically trying to overrule the president, which would add billions of dollars to the already staggering recovery costs."

Federal auditors said on Friday the Bush administration violated law by buying favorable news coverage of Bush’s education policies; making payments to the conservative commentator Armstrong Williams; and by hiring a public relations company to analyze media perceptions of the Republican Party.

I am not American. But i love American people and thier land. I respect all the difference i have with them? Why american are letting one guy do whatever? He lies to America? He didnt find Weapons of mass destruction? How many innocent Army and Iraqies got killed? Why outsourcing jobs to India? Why gas prices are sky rocketing? Healthcare is dream for people? He created hatered for AMERICANS around the world?9/11 was bad? There were many ways to handle this matter in a best way. America wasnt like this before? Where is democracy in America? Why people are sleeping ? Why they dont ask him? He fired many people in his administration? Is he stable reliable? Again i respect Americans? But this is my concern.

How come we can't have John Reid as PM?
He seems bright and articulate, OK on the downside he is a bt like a school teacher and he's a jock. But he doesn't stand for any nonsense, least of all from our muslim friends.

Surely he'd be better than Brown....?
