The European Parliament said it is "indispensable" for Turkey, together with Armenia, to come to terms with its past and reiterated its call for Ankara to acknowledge the mass killings of Armenians of 1915-18 as "genocide."

I'm starting to see a trend of black favorism throughout the whole yahoo questions site. Yahoo seems to remove questions about black folk while allowing for white people to get picked apart. Is there more to this than we know? Cracker can stay butnigger can't. why? We still use the termnigger today as part of our language. Why can't we use it here but cracker can be used? By the way, the average person answering questions on this site is 12.

It’s a sad day today.
I am playing online poker as normal but there are no Americans to be seen. What is detail of the new law that’s been passed banning Americans from using overseas Internet sites? How much was paid in Kickbacks by the gambling lobby to get this bill through? How the hell could they justify it? It really sucks. We miss you guys. Land of the Free??? Not any more.

The Irish Republican Army were formed in response to British occupation and colonisation of Ireland. They used violence as a last resort in response to continous oppression of Ireland. Those here who refer to the IRA as terorists and scum are obviously part of or support the british killing machine in Ireland or just stupid.
In response to the british killing of innocent Irish people and the pillaging of their land, the IRA were formed to put a stop to it as any other country would. The british had no reason other than oppression and greed to take the land away from the Irish.

The DNC appears to want our country defeated on the world stage, both diplomatically and militarily, for the sole purpose of ejecting the GOP. I see this intention as treasonous and utterly criminal ; the sort of criminality that grants passage to GITMO.
If you are democrat, explain why my perception is wrong ; if you happen to be conservative, give your reasoning why you see the DNC in such a light.
Please, if you must hurl the vitiol, make it original as I have heard it all. Creative wording of position is encouraged, as long as it fact.

For example, Why do so many people expect somebody else to provide them with an education, housing, food, medical care, etc?

Another example: Why do people insist on bringing babies into this world when they are not prepared for parenthood & have little to offer a child, & little to contribute to society? Do they think it's the taxpayer's responsibility to provide for their family? Do they think it's their mom & dad's responsibility?

Why are some people not willing to work for what they want? Why are they not willing to wait? How do YOU feel about paying for their selfishness, laziness, ignorance, or just plain bad choices?

How did things get this bad, & is there a way out of it? Can & should the government continue to subsidize everything?

Lastly, is it fair to those who do try to do the right thing & who do pay their own way for the things they want and need in life? What are your thoughts on personal responsibility?

Retired Navy Admiral David Brewer III has no experience leading the second-largest school district in the nation. I personally believe this is a big slap in the face to the mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and as soon has he comes back from China he should take swift measures on punishing those governmental officals who acted immorally with out the consent of the Mayor of Los Angeles. Im so Angry, they didn't ask the parents nor teachers, but should we be surprise, it's the L.A.U.S.D. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Bill Clinton told the youth of our generation that oral sex is not sex, now kids think thant giving oral sex is okay, because it is not sex. and that it is okay to lie to the american public, (I did not have sexual relations with that woman), cheated on his wife, Should I mention the whitewater scandel, wag the dog, Had Osama in his sights, but...ooops, I missed. Then there are all his mistresses, does Jennifer Flowers ring a bell? So why bash Bush, he is nowhere near as incompent as Clinton.

I keep seeing questions about the U.S. putting sanctions on N.Korea or Iran, and I was just wondering exactly what that means? Sanctions are kind of like rules right? So, does this mean that the U.S. is giving them rules as far as their nuclear weapons go? If that's the case, how can they do that? Also, do Iran and N.Korea have to obey these sanctions? Does the U.S. have the right to impose them? If anyone could explain how the process works, i'd appreciate it, thanks.

Rep. Ney pleads guilty; GOP vows ouster.

WASHINGTON - Republican Bob Ney pleaded guilty Friday in the Jack Abramoff influence-peddling investigation, the first lawmaker to confess to crimes in an election-year scandal that has stained the Republican-controlled Congress and the Bush administration.

Standing before Judge Ellen S. Huvelle, Ney pleaded guilty to conspiracy and making false statements. He acknowledged taking money, gifts and favors in return for official actions on behalf of Abramoff and his clients. He says this has been the American way and the Republican way.

Ney did not immediately resign from Congress, and within minutes, Republican and Democratic leaders were requesting him to step down.

I've been doing some calculating and I've noticed something about the SC Justices of the last 70 years. I took those 70 years and divided them into two equal parts of 35 years each. I calculated how many years of service on the Court for all members who retired or died in office during the period of 7/1/1936 to 7/1/1971 and then I did the same for the period of 7/1/1971 to 7/1/2006.

During the 1936-1971 period, a total of 23 people retired/died and their average length of service was a little over 13 years.

During the 1971-2006 period, the number of people who retired/died was only 12 and their average length of service was 26 years -- almost exactly twice as much.

Lately SC Justices have been staying on the Court for twice as long as they formerly did. They are now staying for as long as 6 1/2 presidential terms.

What's up? Why do they stay longer?
