Many, many problems, but the two primary problems are (1) resources (oil) and (2) nuclear capability. There is a finite amount of oil ( we in the US are restricted from utilizing our natural resources for political reasons) and as the third world countries increase their need for oil the price will continue to spiral up. the second problem is nuclear capability. As some third world countries acquire nuclear capability they tend to use this new power in more harmful ways than first world countries. an example is the Palestine/Israel conflict. Palestine throws rocks and Israel uses tear gas/when they get guns they shoot to kill and Israel uses like force-hence people get killed. Think of what would happen if a third world country got/then used nuclear weapons on a first world country. Think of shooting each other on a nuclear level-it ain't pretty. Third world countries/their leaders have shown a propensity for violence-just imagine what it would be like if they had nuclear bombs rather than guns and tanks.

Yes, corruption is the cause of poverty in the world. It is not just political corruption, but it is moral corruption. The heart of men is deceitful and full of evil. For out of the heart flows either good things and words or evil things and words. If love is in your heart then you will say and do loving things, if selfishness is in your heart then you will say and do selfish things.

Making themselves attractive places for bussinesses to be. Vital for this, is a strong educated workforce, and low amount of governmental bureaucracy.
Low taxes would be nice also, however it is not essential.
