Brazil used to be spelled with a Z, now an S
When did that happen, why did the written language change?

it think it always have been that way. it is a matter of linguistics. in the english toungue we may use z but spanish or german may use s instead of z. just my thoughtas but chek wikipedia for possible answers.

Maybe it is just in your book. I attended a presentation by several people from Brazil about a month ago, and THEY still spelled it with a "z." Is your book written by a Demorat?
