Has Canada made any importabt contributions to the world. They seem to be weak and irrelevant. They have allowed Islamofascism to become established in their country, actually allowing Sharia law to be enforceable. My question is what have they contributed to the world in their existance?

Lately I've been questioning the stable society of what is the United States today. Gay rights, the war in Iraq, rising oil prices and the nut up on Capitol Hill and many more problems. I was thinking what could be a solution to the problems and than I couldn't help but thinking about how they say this is a "people's government". If it is a people's gov. why is it purely controlled by big business and greedy cooporations? You might not agree but I think this country simply needs a new source of pride. I mean how often do you hear somebody say "Wow, I love this country!", and although we may think that all I mostly hear is, "This countries falling to pieces", or any other negative comments. This isn't so much a question as it is me asking your opinion. But who else thinks that we should have a main language (english), a first religion (christianity) and many other things that give us a sense of pride in our country. I say as long as the MAJORITY agrees we should stick with it but still

It's all a lie we've all been spoon-fed by our teachers and politicians.

Here is just one example:

Europe protects their citizens privacy and rights way more than this country.

We are being stripped of our rights and privacy piece by piece all in the name of "fighting terror."

Even such an institution as the Credit Bureau would be illegal in Europe. Europeans do not allow any agency, government or private, to collect data on its citizens.

This country allows this and even encourages it.

This country collects data on your criminal records, driving records, financial records and health records. Insurance companies can even deny you coverage if they find out you had some type of disease in the past.

All of this would be illegal in Europe.

Why do we allow our government to snoop around on us like the Soviet Union did to their people??

Throughout America's history, there have been occasions where the notion of confederacy (States having rights that the Federal Government cannot interfere with or control) has been used as a sort of cover for institutionalized racism. In some cases, Federalism (the notion that the Supreme Court could wield the power of the Federal Government to control individual states and the residents therein) has been used to combat such gross misconduct. In discussions with Liberals (whom I view as Half-Hearted Communists), this fact is used as some sort of 'catch all' arguement in favour of more Federalism in every possible circumstance. The attitude I sense from these people is, 'well, if you are not FOR federalism, you must be FOR racism'. This is, in my opinion, a silly notion. If I take a stick off of a tree and poke you in the eye with it, is the stick bad? Of course not, the stick is merely a tool which I have made use of to my own ends. I think heavy handed federalism works the same way.

Pentagon gives gloomy Iraq report By BURNS, AP Military Writer

WASHINGTON - Sectarian violence is spreading in Iraq and the security problems have become more complex than at any time since the U.S. invasion in 2003, a Pentagon report said Friday.

In a notably gloomy report to Congress, the Pentagon reported that militias have become more entrenched, especially in Baghdad neighborhoods where they are seen as providers of both security and basic social services.

The report described a rising tide of sectarian violence, fed in part by interference from neighboring Iran and Syria and driven by a "Hate for the USA" of religious extremists who oppose the idea of a democratic Iraq.

Death squads targeting mainly Iraqi civilians who are working for the USA, heightening the risk of civil war, the report said.

"Death squads and terrorists are locked in mutually reinforcing cycles of sectarian strife," the report said, adding the USA Military can not stop the strife.

Why is it that we have not seen a "cigarette comercial" on tv in years and yet almost EVERY commercial break is riddled with those for alcoholic beverages? Just a small quandry about the inner workings of our society and the rules of politics as they govern these two things. No prayer in schools, no cigarette commercials or ads in magazines, yet promotion of alcohol products everywhere you look. Does anyone else find this interesting or even worth pondering? Interesting that we seemingly are always hearing something about some money monger suing some tobacco company for something yet I do not seem to recall even ONE mention, EVER about anyone suing any alcohol company for anything and I find it very interesting that this is not a bigger deal. If I were a tobacco company I would be raising all kinds of havoc over this yet they do not seem to be and if they are then we are not hearing about it. I just think it a very large public injustice to target one and not all. Hypocritical!

Today's News illustrated that Iraq is at the brink of a Civil War. Pentagon also today expressed gloomy report to congress about Iraq. Our troops facing even more challenges and the situation is getting worst. I really wonder if Bush would have invaded Iraq, if he had known that a civil war would break out over there placing our troops in jeopardy! I personnaly don't see invading Iraq as it is the real issue. The main problem in my opinion is that Bush and Congress did not study, analyse or foresee the unfortunate consequences in Iraq. Pushing for the invasion without anticipating "Murphy's Law" made us pay a huge unnecessary bad price. What do you think as Americans?

Ahh, finally … Labor Day. In the United States, it’s a day of observance to recognize organized labor. A day off work, for some, just another workday for others. I find it strange that this holiday was created to honor the working man/woman and yet we expect service people to work on that day. Starbucks, McDonalds, Ralphs, National Parks, malls, gas stations, etc., … they’re all open that day, and we expect their employees to be working, right?

George W. Bush is a Godsend to the United States and Rudy Guiliani saved 25,000 people in NYC on 9-11-01. Who shares with me that since my Christian role model George W. Bush can't be President again (wish they would change that law), that Guiliani should be President and G.W. Bush as Vice-President. In all my years I have never felt safer when I sleep at night. Truly, God has blessed us all with these fine men.
