I agree.

I think it is complete bologna that Cheney and Rumsfeld have been cooking up their entire 35+ years in Washington.

Ok to me this story is remicent in the fact that its old news to me. I've been debating and discussing for years with my father and sister's. The fact the the war on terror is in and of it self terror used to scare the sheeple into enacted measures that would tighten the borders. Not to only keep terrorists out but to keep people from leaving eventualy. In addition to invading person privacy and limiting freedom of speech. As well as the fact this so called war is called a holy war by islamists is a sign that other countries of w/ differing religion feel that the U.S. does not practice what it preaches about seperation of church and state. U can see the christian religion in almost all aspects of politics. While I don't have a problem with the Christian religion, and do believe that christ was real. I am also of pagen belief in that aspect I have an open mind to all faiths. Unfortunatly the majority of other christians that i have spoken with are of the belief that christianity is the only path to heaven.(the majority might be open minded, but i personally haven't met many) When the reality is that in the bible God states that he will be known by many names and he has many faces. I don't know the passages off the top of my head .

So yes i believe the war on terror is completly bogus. But there is a major play for power going on, and what is being seen currrently, is not all there is.

I think in the next few years the sheeple are going to have to wake up or it will be a long time before they are even capable of waking up.

I have read the lengthy article. The MP has valid points. I do have doubts about making a connection to this article directly to a war on terror. There is a better argument in the article for the necessity of the US & UK to have a dominating influence in the oil rich countries in the Mideast. 9/11 has given Bush & Blair a moral reason to go after al Qaeda. They have somehow duped the media in the western world to tranfer this attack to Iraq, a very oil rich country. Bush's flawed thinking translates this to a war on terror. The term took on the connotation of being fashionable. Before our leaders drilled into us we must fear the communists because they are the ultimate evil. For some unexplained reason, the west has viewed themselves as the good guys and any disagreement renders all others evil. There is no more a war on terror than there is a war on dandruff. We have a tendency to describe our struggles as a War against .... For example there is a war against cancer. We use military terms to describe our struggles.

No! the war on terror is a very real war and the sooner we eliminate all dumocrats the safer the U.S. will be. The article you refer to is written by an anti war advocate and no war is ever justified in his opinion. Hopefully some of you naysayers will be first in line at the next explosion or be on the next plane the terrorists decide to take over and kill everyone on board.

I think it's bogus. I've read about the Project for the new American Century and I believe that 9/11 was a set up by our own government and not "terrorists" Unfortunately "sheeple" haha I love that- would rather get their information from right wing biased television/newspapers who wouldnt know the truth if it bit them on the nose. Has anyone ever heard of imperialism? Good for Michael Meacher for sticking to the truth.

I feel we need to fight terrorism, it is a reality of today's world. How many times have you seen these extreemists on t.v. saying " the infidels must be destroyed" That is us they are referring to. However, to go into a country and bomb the hell out of them, without any long term plan is bogus. And no matter how many we capture or kill there is another one to fill their shoes. Christ, look at the kids in those countries weilding guns saying Americans must die. This is not going to go away by sitting back and doing nothing, nor will it ever go away, so in the meantime, we must fight, whether by war or sanctions. No one likes war, but it has been going on since the dawn of civilization.

Considering I was watching TV when the planes hit the WTC, I would have to say that the war is definitely for real.

Now to address you PNAC slander piece. Are you familiar with the term paranoid delusion? Seriously, you need to study up on the subject if you are going to go down the pnac planned this whole thing years ago in texas.

Paranoia is a dangerous illness, one that if left untreated can ruin your entire life. Does you actions today cause problems for your loved ones? If not today, should you not seek help, it will

Of course it is! Its a way to make marshall law. But what bush doesn't realize is the old saying United we stand Devided we FALL. YOU see everything that is wrong now of days is right. And viesa versa. The government is trying to reform countries that aren't ours. Hence other countrys religion, values, and boundries are of course going to be different from us. We are picking on other countries that can't win. So they drive them to being terroist. But does anyone really know what goes on behind doors? Sure we can say we know but we really don't know. The war is against our own kind. The govern wants full control for gods sakes they are training our own soldiers to handle us. They are allowing other people that we are waring against us come buy up all our small stores, gas stations, and even let them work in our military and water plants. For what ever reason we are signing our own death certificates. Not to mention they are taking all our weapons from us so we can't fight back. The courts are playing dirty as well. Where our constitutional rights??? Well these are the questions we should ask ourselfves if we are not to brain washed. I mean look how many times we are taxed on everything we do. We get taxed even for our labor...lol. When are people going to wake up from our own terrioist? Furthermore all these contracts and laws that are made each year. The consumers get over too they're contracts in the little writing so you can't see it. It basically says i can change the contract at anytime and charge you more money and you can't do a thing about it. If you have insurance on your cell phone for example , do you even realize how hard it is to get the cell phone company to honor what they say.Good luck. The terrorist are the us.. Its a typical hitler situation. They the government is starting all this bullshit then going in and fighting a country whom granted is not right what so ever. But **** they have to defend them selves wouldn't you? The war is bogus and so is our pres. We are ruining the planet too. So really if you think about it let the war come cause there is not nothing we can do about it. Bush is out of control and we all just need to kiss our butts behind cause we are way out of control. We need to get back to the basics and quit defending the right to be terrorist ourselves and love the planet. In the end we die anyways so why war yeh I know jobs what a messed up world we live in.

It's not bogus, but it is misdirected. Iraq never supported terrorism against the U.S., but other Middle Eastern nations, including Iran and Afghanistan, have supported terrorism, and Saudi Arabia has siupplied many terrorists.

Unfortunately, terrorism is a real thing, but the US doesn't help any matters much by antagonizing them. I think that the debate that the president of Iran wanted with Bush should have come to being. I don't agree with radical Islam but still, he was opening a world-wide dialogue. Bush should have picked up the gauntlet.

The "war on terror" is a marketing phrase, like the "war on drugs".

It is an effective, if fairly childish, way to rally support for a lot of unpopular programs, getting people to think that the programs actually serve some purpose other than just expanding govt control.
