The National Do Not Call list is a Joke, first it does not aplly to politicians, political campaigns, or non profit groups. second, It does not apply if you have had previous business with the company or are an existing client (wich means if you filled out one of those cards to win a car you are an existing client). third, it takes at least six months for your number to get on distributed on the current do not call list.
The simplest way for you to get those telemarketers to stop calling is to say "put me on your in house do not call list" as soon as you recognize to whom you are talking. I am a former project manager for a telemarketing agency and I know it works. I started doing this as soon as I found out about it and now I rarely get called. Of course every time my wife fills out one of those cards I have to start all over. besides it fun to listen to the all air escape from a telemarketers call.
Now if there were only a way to stop those junk mailers from filling up my mail box.

not sure of the number anymore but just do a search using national do not call registry. There is also one for credit cards and junk mail.

there is a web site, google national do not call list.
you can register your number on the web site.
i would google it, but my computer is acting up.
