Now that a federal judge has ruled that Bush's warrantless wire tapping program is unconstitutional and ordered an immediate halt to it, how will this administration's legacy be effected?

Do you think it is fair that the federal government borrows from the social security trust fund?
Keep in mind that social security taxes are capped at about $100K. That means that someone making $1 million per year pays the same in social security taxes as someone making $100k/yr.

Did anyone see his interview on 60 minutes the other night?? I saw the end, he wouldn't answer the question as to whether or not he wanted to resume relations with the U.S. He said he hopes that the U.S. will learn to stop threatening other countries....I believe he is going to be key in the future of the World....just like Hilter or Saddam....he will eventually need to be stopped and by who??? most likely the U.S.

First of all, to all nurses- give yourself a big hand! Whether you work in mental health or on a cancer ward I just don't know how you do it. I've been unfortunate enough to see you in action and without you, there would be no hope for millions of people. I find it despicable that you are so poorly paid and generally treated by the NHS, why is this?

I vote for Gore. He won the vote. The Republicans stole the election. Damn electoral college.

Looking over these years we have been dealing with Bush( and I don't totally despise him), it makes me wonder how great a president Gore could have been. He is an idealist and extremely smart. We have seen the likes of talent in him in a long time.

"Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the U.N.'s mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion route, the U.S. could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land. It would have been a dramatically different--and perhaps barren--outcome."

"Trying to eliminate Saddam, extending the ground war into an occupation of Iraq, would have violated our guideline about not changing objectives in midstream, engaging in "mission creep," and would have incurred incalculable human and political costs."

George H. W. Bush "A World Transformed" 1998

First I'm not saying ALL government is bad or it's not needed...just 70% of it!

In our town we recently had a four lane road re-paved in front of our NEW Court (old one was 10 years old) at a cost of taxpayers of 12 million dollars..a perfectly good road in very good shape.
Serveral people wrote into the local newspapers asking why???...and how much $$$

Finally after it was completed and the local paper pushed for answers "WE" the people were told that if they didn't spend the money that their budgets would be cut the following YEAR! That was the REASON!!!!!!!!!!!

What an OUTRAGE!!!!!!!

Does anyone else understand this???????

The insurgents are NOT from any previously known terrorist group (they all jumped on the "terrorist" bandwagon). It would be embarassing for GW to pull out now...BUT WHO CARES!!!...suck it up and do whats right! Im sick and tired of hearing people who have loved ones in Iraq fighting say.."Im thankful that they are over there fighting for my freedom"..EXCUSE ME?...what did the Iraqi people ever do to me? I(we) was never threatened by Iraq. I was threatened by a group of terrorists from Saudi Arabia...and Afghanistan....NOT IRAQ! why didnt we send in the same amount of troops into Afghanistan as we have in Iraq...and get the REAL people responsible for 9-11. Osama is laughing at us every day. Hes very happy that we are in Iraq...because it takes all the heat off him. One more thing. Did you ever ponder this...if we left Iraq...the "insurgents" wouldnt have anyone to kill! Amazing isnt it!

WMD's? umm...no! protecting my freedom? how?????? if we are over there because of Saddam's ruthlessness....then why arent we in Africa..or North Korea...or anywhere else in the world where there is trouble. Read the book "The One Percent Doctirine". The best way to support our troops is to get them the hell out of there....NOW!
