Hi,

I think you have put up a highly complex question which has more than one valid answer. It just depends on an individual’s perception as to which form of government he thinks is better because no government can be the best. Every form of governance has its pros and cons. Someone might feel that dictatorship is better than democracy as it provides more stability and is more efficient than a democratic government. This is true to an extent. However someone might feel that democracy is better because it provides the people with various intuitions to express their thoughts, beliefs and actions. It just depends on the conditions of the country you are talking about. I think, today in India there is widespread corruption, unemployment, illness and thus democracy hasn't been really successful and it might be better to have a dictatorship. So it’s not that easy to pinpoint which government is the best. Everyone knows what the US President George Bush was doing when he received the news of 9/11 attack. (If you don't then please watch Fahrenheit 9/11).

However, just to answer your question from a very general point of view, I think Swiss Government if the best from of governance. Switzerland’s existence as a modern federal state dates back to 1848. The government is made up of seven members, elected by the Federal Assembly. The government members take it in turns to act as president. The Swiss people can influence political affairs through the highly developed system of direct democracy.
Switzerland’s position as a neutral state allows it to play an important humanitarian role in world affairs and to act as a mediator between conflicting parties.

Thats it from my side.......

Regards,

CM

Switzerland. Mandatory military duty which instills duty and loyalty to thier country yet stay nuetral in every war except ones that really threaten them, a policy of eco-friendly institutions and businesses and the drive to keep small shops from being swallowed by large global conglomerates, and thier immigration policy. They are very strigent on who they let in. You must be sponsored by a township, keeps the scum out and allows the people of Switzerland to keep thier land for thier future generations, not turn it over to an ungrateful group who will destroy it in a generation.

I think Switzerland probably has the best government because of the Swiss people. These people are frugal, down-to-earth, common-sense kind of citizens that recognize the value of life without all the reckless consumerism, materialism and feckless disregard for respect and civility to each other. That results in a government that can truly serve the citizenry instead of trying to protect the population from myriad criminal and undesirable elements. -RKO-

In Berlin on June 25, 1963, President John F. Kennedy said:

"Freedom has many difficulties and democracy is not perfect, but we have never had to put a wall up to keep our people in, to prevent them from leaving us."
