Because our nation is run by globalist socialists. They tax us and ditribute our income to other nations in order to implement their global economic system as the foundation to their New World Order.

The amount of foreign aid that the US gives away annually is far less than the amount it is paying for military expenditures or paying the interest on the overall debt.
The benefit to America is that by appearing generous, you maintain the goodwill of places where your companies do business. The overall benefit is financially a huge windfall for you.
There is also the side benefit that it is the right thing to do. To lessen the misery of people suffering who are otherwise far less fortunate than yourselves.
A couple less Big Mac's buys some innocent kid his eyesight or a chance to read and make the world a better place.
Don't believe everything you hear about the developing world hating America. people in need appreciate whatever help they can get. Corrupt government mouthpieces often try to leverage US goodwill for extra gain, but the downtrodden are grateful.
Also as a democracy, we have to accept that some people in our countries have different spending priorities than we do. You may want to spend government money on Museums, me, I may want to spend it on Space exploration, our governments have to find the balance between the various desires against a limited budget

Its easier to buy them off than confront them. It reminds me of the help we gave to Indonesia after the tsunami where people were taking our gifts of food, water, blankets, tents, medicine etc. while wearing T-shirts praising Bin-Laden. If income taxes were put in place to finance WW1 why are we still required to pay them every year since. I thought that war was over and done with. When will we say we've had enough and elect someone who has the balls to get rid of income taxes for people who can't even afford health care. I have to be carefull here or the Gestapo will be coming to take my computer.

You guys are not giving your money away. The US is not that generous. According to a Washington Post report (April 2001) for each dollar that is sent overseas in financial aid (not as a loan) the US economy receives back US$400.
There are other type of returns: each dollar reinforces the influence of the US, and this is the price that we find the most onerous and difficult to bear.
