If the government wants to take under god out of the pledge and off the money and take the ten commandments out of the government buildings, because its unconstitutional, I think that the government officials pushing this should not enjoy the benifits fof the religious holidays. We should get our mail on Christmas and easter. all the offices should be open on these days as well. And the government should have to be open on Sundays (set aside for God) So my point is that if they want to take god out of life, lets take him out of theirs. I know this isn't really a question I just want to see how many people actually feel this way.

Face the facts world, the children are growing up in single parent homes. One parent leaves the other for whatever reason, and the child is put in the middle of the situation. One parent wants to blame the other parent and they both want to call the other names, we even have the country calling the men that do not pay "dead beat dads". The respect for family is going down the drain in the eyes of some people, and the children are witnessing this cycle of abuse. Because that is exactly what it is, abuse. I am looking for a reasonable solution to the child support issue, because I know that some custodial parents are out their doing drugs, and saying that it is the only way for them to cope with the world surrounding them. Some are making excuses to let the non custodial parents have the children, because they are using the state welfare system to go on HUD and substandard housing, making enough money and not reporting it. This is called welfare fraud. The states need to reform.

I am not a liberal at all, i know this war was necessary but what are we trying to prove now? Haven't we lost our focus; didn't thid war start b/c of 9/11 not b/c of oil; what changed our direction?I lost a good friend who was a marine in Iraq on 1-23-05. I don't want his death to be in vain but is that possible at this point?

Yes, I know the dictionary definition, and I also have my own definition. But I've noticed people on this site use "conservative" and "liberal" as if they were curse words.

I've met people who defined themselves as conservatives, but had no problems with abortion, and I've met people who defined themselves as liberal but had a serious problem with gay people. So, I'm a bit confused. I was taught that liberalism and conservatism can only be attached to viewpoints, not people.

So, what's your definition of "conservative" and "liberal"?

I'm open to all opinions, but please, keep it clean!

Have sent all papers and documents available for discharge. Now they want proof of std for year of 03. Former employer no longer handles those papers. Have tried to call everyone who may be connected with my previous employer, but still no responses. I'm at the point where I want to say, Just send payment booklet, but lost husband in 02, went on disability in 02, and have not worked a day since. Does anyone have ANY advice where to turn to or how to handle this problem? Does anyone know of any type of attorney, very reasonable,if not free, to be able to give advice on this matter? I'm desperate as on SS and trying to survive on that. I have sent as many papers as possible showing disability began on 9/25/02, but more and more papers from IRS are required and more info from previous employer. It has changed 3 times since I worked there and each time I call to get the info am told I'm not in the system. Where do I turn or does anyone have ANY solution. Thank you Stress is mounting!

I'm always amazed how history repeats itself. The first Pro-Choice movement in the southern United States in the 1840-1850's. The argument was then about the issue of slavery was: I don't own a slave but I don't want to stop another one from owning one. That was exactly the argument by the speaker of the house...after all it was just a black. Same arugument today: I personally don't want an abortion..but I don't want to stop another..after all it's just a fetus. Aboration like slavery is merly a lower of human value. I do believe one day in this country school children will look back in horror and disbelief that many years ago we allowed people to murder children within their mothers womb..as today we look back on slavery in almost disbelief. Some today are just as determined to allow this just as the first pro-choice movement was to allow slavery. Western expansion of slavery was called "PRO-CHOICE"
I'd like to hear your views!

These people have been held for 4 and a half years with no charges brought and no trials! They have been effectively kidnapped. It is desparate there now with the hangings and starvation and who can blame them? Imagine this was one of your family members?
What can we do as Americans? This is totally against the Constition and writing to our senators, etc. hasn't helped, from what I can tell.
If they are guilty, then charge them and try them, if not-Send Them Home!
Anyone?
