I agree. Many times small groups get their way in court because the rest of us fail to stand up for what we believe in, and I'm just as guilty as the next person. Take removing prayer from school - that started with one person who was offended and look how far it's blown up. People are different and America is a diverse nation and that's what makes it so great and so interesting, but people also need to realize that just because they are offended at something is not a reason to start getting lawyers and passing laws to stop what offends them. We have our freedom to agree or disagree but some need to leave it at that and stop turning everything into a political nightmare. Taking God out of the Pledge and off money and removing the 10 Commandments from government buildings also takes away the basics from which this great country was founded. And P.S. I love the previous answer!!! Good one! That is so true for sure.

God did not even appear in the pledge of allegiance until the 1950s'. It is a pledge to our flag not to God. The constitution was specifically worded to include this because some of our founding fathers left Europe because of religious prosecution. The only reason Ike put it in was because of Communisms' rise after the war. Read your history. Actually every time you say under God you are defying the Constitution. Gee I think you may be breaking the law! You know what I personally think? That listening to right wing religious people like you makes -- God weep

Well, nice argument, but Sundays are off not because of religious reasons. Working hours are restricted to around 40 hours in the world, that is why weekends are holidays, although iit originates from the religion, that’s true.
You must also see that the governments should be liberal about religions, but people don’t have to. What I want to say is that posts can be open on Sundays, but postmen won’t work.
I believe if your idea came into existence, the number of atheists would significantly decrease. lol

I agree! and I honestly feel there is more to this than meets the eye! Why do these people want to remove God and everything related to God out of the public view? Here's what I think:
The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a
Courthouse is that you cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery"and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and
politicians! It creates a hostile work environment.

I think you have a point. I think that if President Bush took Christmas off the list of paid holidays and ordered all federal agencies to stay open on Christmas Day, that would really spin heads of the politicians who rail for a separation of Church and State.
Schools should stay open, too.
It would perk up the dialogue in this country, too.

There are many, many things that we should take away from government power. But as soon as the people get together to act on something like that, they will start enforcing and increasing their power so that the people will be shut up.

I agree 100%!!! Not many people on here are conservative... much less sounding a bit Christian. It's amazing. Well, I don't think they should ALL have to do that I mean some are against this... I think. But I've got one for you to answer. How do you feel about parental rights?

Very good point !
Unfortunately those who wish to remove God from everything, are usually the 1st to try to use God to their advantage when it suits them.
