Elections - December 2007

Mike Huckabee is rising steadily in the polls, especially with conservatives. He has so many great ideas. Yet his past history shows that he granted over 1000 pardons, that he is weak on illegal immigration, and several other things of concern to conservatives. If you are a conservative, and if you are aware of these things, how do you reconcile these seeming contradictions? Do you think he would make a good President?

It cost the GOP and they are going to do the same thing.... Ah Earth to the DNC this is going to be tight durning this election you do have slim majority in Congress and the White House is still a big unknown right now.

Is it really smart to push the war funding bills and lose control of Congress and give it to the GOP again?

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development wants to demolish about 4,500 public housing units at four of the city's largest complexes and replace them with mixed-income neighborhoods. The St. Thomas redevelopment has been a major source of distrust of housing plans in New Orleans. After it was torn down, a Wal-Mart superstore was built and most of the former residents wound up in other neighborhoods.
Candidate John Edwards says ""There is a housing crisis in New Orleans today — the result of government policies that have failed the people of the Gulf. Rents have doubled, families are being evicted from FEMA trailers and now the current administration is trying to make a bad situation worse."
When lots of housing was destroyed and people were left homeless-The Republican promised to "REBUILD" the city. Well, their rebuilding plans seem to be to kick people to the streets and make money for investors and big builders.
What do YOU think of this?

Suppose there were NO DEMOCRATS in the coming election and you could ONLY vote for a Republican...

Which, of the current candidates, would you vote for and why?

People usually vote for someone they feel close to, like a father or a brother if you will, it's not only the political ideas by far

So if the US population is only about 10 percent African American then why do certain people think Obama can win?

A vast majority of the 10 percent will vote Obama
A vast majority of the 90 percent will vote non-Obama

Do you follow my logic?

Pastor Mike Huckabee (a Southern Baptist) is currently leading in the polls among Republican candidates.

Considering that he is a fundamentalist Christian pastor, is he suitable to be our president? Can non-Christians and even Christians of mainline and liberal denominations (as well as "restorationist" denominations such as Mormonism or Jehovah's Witnesses which are frequently called "cults" in fundamentalist churches) trust Huckabee not to violate their freedom of religion?

Putting aside the questions as to whether or not Huckabee can win and whether or not he has sound policy proposals, does the fact that he is a fundamentalist Christian pastor make him unfit to be president?

In Chief of the USA? So she was First Lady? Big Deal...I know many "First Ladies of Business" they wouldn't think twice about taking their husband's jobs.

Would she even be a Senator of NY had she not been First Lady?

Be honest with yourselves....

Now tell me what qualifies her to be the Leader of the Free World....Are you counting on Bill to guide her? What if he Dies?

Should Obama be elected, is he willing to support medical marijuana for those in need of it with a doctors approval? I understand he has admitted it open his horizons after smoking the herb and he set his standards and goals a lot higher! So far, he seems to be opening eyes and the sky's the limit! What do you believe?

I'd love to see what Hillary and Obama could do with the country but I'm a realist in knowing that Obama will never sit in the White House as President or Vice. It's just not going to happen. Hillary has a much better chance but realistically she won't sit in the White house either. Giuliani and the others stand a much better chance. That's just me.
