Every other election, the canidate with the most votes wins. The excuses that I have heard on this ,almost surpasses the excuses for our country being in Iraq.

With us paying so much in oil, perhaps the war wasn't to lower the cost of oil, but to increase the profits for those who grease the most hands in Washington, Republican and Democratic.

"Who pays the piper calls the tune", goes the old saying.
With "cash for honours" in the UK etc. and Bush and co. in the pockets of the oil industry and other special interest groups, there must be a better way for political parties to be funded.
In Germany the parties get x Euros for every vote cast for them. This seems fairer but how then did the Greens ever get started?
There's got to be a better way than just a few people feeding the jukebox, calling the tune.

As I'm sure you've heard, Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) has garnered much support with his message of freedom and upholding the Constitution, particularly with restoring our civil liberties and opposing a foreign policy that has cost our country thousands of lives and billions of dollars.

The Constitution provides careful limits, beyond which, under no circumstances can our government pass. It allows political decisions based on what's best for the FREEDOM of the people of this country. Not what's "best" for "the people". No one knows what's "best" for "the people". The details of "best" are best left to the individual.

Ron Paul, in my opinion, is the only candidate that gets this and is prepared to mend the most important document of our country which has been treated w/ about as much respect by the Bush administration as toilet paper.

In honor of Constitution Week, I've donated to his campaign (RonPaul2008). If you support Ron Paul, have you/will you also, or just talk the talk?

I apologize in advance.. this may come out as more of a rant, but I just wanted to see if anyone else feels this way...

I'm tired of arguing.. I really am.. I've tried my absolute best to do my research and present facts.. But it seems like no matter what I do people refuse to listen... There is an abundance of information out there, why do people continue to be in a state of delusion... I don't care if your a liberal or conservative or anything else anymore.. I'm tired of the blame game... I'm tired of ignorant people... I see the state of the world and it makes me so upset, I try to do as much as I can to change things, but I just feel powerless. Does anyone else see things this way?

"Note please refrain from rude comments, I didn't write this to trash anyone's beliefs.. I'm just frusturated with the situation.. thats all

My friend says they should because it would force America and it's next president to be more world-aware and diplomatic and because what America's president does affects much of the world.
I say they shouldn't because, among other reasons like national security, it would add more special interest lobbyists to prevent anything from ever being agreed upon. For example, we can all guess how most Mexicans would probably vote on the immigration issue.
Solve our argument?

Liberals when you say this war is over oil do you really know how stupid that sounds? Or is this another cheap shot at Bush? This war is having some effect on oil prices but you know damn well Oil is not the reason we are there! Clinton and Carter's own stupidity is the reason we are there ! So instead of sounding or being stupid why don't you open a history book!!! If you don't want to know the truth then stay a democrat but stop blaming your stupidity on Republicans!

I definitely don't like all of the Democratic Candidate's proposals for fixing the problem, but Healthcare definitely is an issue, with people dying because they switch companies after having a pre-existing/uninsurable condition, or after loosing jobs our corporations take to Mexico and India, why do no Republican candidates have any Healthcare Plan on the platforms? Do they think we're too dumb to notice? I might not expect much from someone like Mitt Romney who took his profits to other countries so he could avoid the taxes the rest of us pay, but Giuliani? Paul? I expect something.

Ever since Con Man Clinton got himself Impeached for lying to a Grand jury no less! Liberal Democrat's Have been blaming Republicans and our President for every thing from the Twin Towers to well you name it! Here's a news flash! Bush had Nothing to do with Clinton Cheating on his wife!!! Most Republicans could care less about what he did .I mean being Married to Hillary almost excuses it. However when He lies to a Grand Jury !That is a big Problem and rightfully so he was impeached. Clinton and Jimmy Carter are the biggest reason we are at war with Terrorist ! Bottom line is Liberals have acused bush of all these lies but NEVER proved he lied even once! But for some reason Liberals take the word of a President who Lied to a Grand jury and was Impeached .What does that say about the Liberal Democrat party? Republicans can prove Democrats Lie but Democrats can't ever prove Republicans lie. Because when Liberals acuse Republicans of lying there actuations them selfs are lies!!!

UCLA Police Taser Student For Not Showing ID

NBC 11
Thursday, November 16, 2006

RELATED: Americans To Be Tortured For Refusing To Show ID?

Comment: This is like something out of a horror movie, you can hear the guy screaming and begging not to be tortured as they repeatedly hit him with the Taser shot. Tortured for not showing ID in America, this is what "serve and protect" has come to mean.

LOS ANGELES -- A cell phone captured video of a 23-year-old student being administered multiple Taser shocks by UCLA police on Tuesday.

The UCLA student was hit with the Taser shocks multiple times while he was in the Powell Library Computer Lab.

Another student recorded the incident on a camera phone. On the video, Mostafa Tabatabainejad can be heard screaming during the incident, which took place at about 11:30 p.m., the Daily Bruin reported.

According to the paper, Tabatabainejad did not show ID to community service officers who were conducting a random check. UCLA police said Tabatabainejad was released by police after he was cited for obstruction/delay of a peace officer in the performance of duty.

The Daily Bruin reported that Tabatabainejad complained when an officer was escorting him from the lab and put his hand on one of Tabatabainejad's arms. He allegedly yelled, "Get off of me," according to the paper. He was then shot with the Taser, reported the paper.

The Daily Bruin reported that after he was hit, Tabatabainejad yelled, "Here's your Patriot Act, here's your f---ing abuse of power."

Police said they thought Tabatabainejad was not harmed in the incident.

"If he was able to walk out of here, I think he was OK," the sergeant said

I recently read that Hilary Clinton, if elected, wants to make health insurance manditory for all americans. I frankly do not know what I would do if this happens. I have pre-existing conditions which makes me "uninsurable" in the eyes of the insurance companies. They won't touch me with a ten foot poll. And I have tried. Is she going to insist that my husband get a different job and hope that the open enrollment will take me. Or that I get a full time job for coverage (again, hoping that I would get coverage) and pay most of a paycheck not only to insurance but to have someone else take care of my son, who has his own developmental issues.

Please tell me if I am looking at this all wrong or if there would be a simpler solution if she does get elected.

We can't do away with our most valuable export industry as we now ride on the back of a mineral exports boom, as opposed to the former wheat and wool days ! However I can't stand the thought of mining old growth rainforest in Tasmanias wilderness etc... Atleast from what I see no real ecological harm can come to a desert waste land anyway ! So who will ensure growth and prosperity AND preserve sensitive old growth forest areas in Australia ?

He outflanks the Democrats on the war (against the Iraq, Iran, and Sudan Wars). He outflanks the Democrats on economic populism (he is anti-IRS and anti-Federal Reserve). He outflanks the Democrats on Health Care (he is a doctor and therefore can tear apart Hillary with his support for Capitalism). He also is pro-national sovereignty (anti-open borders, North American Union, NAFTA, CAFTA, NATO, UN, WTO, IMF, and World Bank) unlike the Democrats. He outflanks the Democrats on civil liberties (he voted against the Patriot Act, unlike Hillary and has been a consistent supporter of civil liberties, including being anti-censorship).

Is Ron Paul the only candidate who can beat Hillary? Can any of the pro-aggressive war, anti-civil liberties candidates beat Hillary?

Hillary said that she would make it a "mandate" for all Americans to purchase private healthcare insurance. Romney and Guiliani say that people can purchase health care insurance through tax credits, and...?

With 47 million uninsured Americans unable to get it, how can our candidates and government EXPECT people like me to able to afford between $1800 to $3000 a month private health insurance policies?

Has anyone really put some serious *thought* into addressing this crisis with the uninsured and low-income--instead of just adding what I see as "Band-Aid" solutions to a growing problem here in the country?

Enough to end this why do liberals do this? why are conservatives like this? Do you realize we are all Americans and who is elected into office will effect us all the same way! I understand people have different ideas on the ways things should be run, but instead of calling each other stupid names, why not actually try to present facts on why what you think is right and pose valid arguments regarding the issues… What is important right now is the state of country and who we need to put into office to fix it… calling each other out for dumb irrelevant things won’t resolve anything…
