I'd like to see Richardson as Secretary of State. He has formidable skills in one-on-one diplomacy and a very level head. Biden would be a good veep choice, and she may choose him, but I still have a feeling she'll go with someone strong in the public but not running. Although I can't for the life of me think of someone who fits that description.

He's more moderate. He brings foreign policy experience and has been governor of New Mexico which means he has executive experience. A much better choice than Obama or Edwards as these are/were Senators too. New Mexico went for Bush in 2004, so Richardson would bring this important swing state into the Democratic hands. I like him as a VP candidate.

Richardson would bring alot of experience. He's been Governor of New Mexico for a few years, served as Secretary of Energy during the Clinton administration, and was the United States Ambassador to the UN. Being a non-establishment Democrat (he's pro-gun, among other things), he would help get some vital independent and maybe even conservative votes. Also, he would draw in some Latino votes.

Richardson has executive experience as governor, had a generally good reputation serving in the Clinton cabinet, and also could attract Hispanic voters.
Plus, New Mexico is a swing state, whereas Delaware is reliably Democratic.
Biden could end up with a cabinet post in a Clinton administration.
I want a Republican to win, but that's the rationale.

Check out Richardson's background in foreign policy and in diplomacy and see if you still like Biden better.
I'm no liberal -- I'm a Republican living in New Mexico. So far, I've been quite happy with his governorship. He's easy on business and he has created a film industry where there wasn't one. Lots and lots of jobs have been created because of this.
I'd never vote for Hillary under any circumstances, but with Richardson as her running mate, she just may be able to snag some of the Republican vote -- and I think that's where her train of thought is on making Richardson her running mate.

Well he would help in the West, he could bring New Mexico, which went for Gore in 2000 but Kerry lost in 2004, he could swing some other Western states like Colorado, Nevada, etc, he would help with hispanics, who are a growing voting group, plus he has executive and foreign policy experience.

Richardson brings votes from the largest minority in America. Hispanics are turning out in record numbers each election. If the Democrats can woo them they will benefit from millinos more votes.

He is half Mexican so he would bring in a lot of Hispanic votes. But I think she will probably pick Senator Dodd or Senator Biden.
She will not pick Senator Obama, because he will outshine her.

Because most political analysts agree on two things . . . one - the swing states are in the southwest and two - legal immigrants will decide the election.
