Considering a presidential run, and a huge beacon of hope for the Democrats, he seems to be very popular. Are there people who don't like him that we don't hear about, and if so, what is their (or your) oppositon?

Rather than trying to rate thousands of candidates nationwide for 435 House, 34 Senatorial and countless local and state races, I will focus on a few critical and close ones.

It goes without saying that Armenians should help re-elect the two members of Congress who are of Armenian origin: Cong. Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and John Sweeney (R-NY). Armenians should also vote for State Senator Chuck Poochigian, a Republican, who is running for Attorney General of California. He is engaged in a tough battle against former governor Jerry Brown who has an advantage in terms of name recognition. Paul Krekorian, a Democrat, is expected to easily win a seat in the California State Assembly.
Also deserving the Armenian community?s support is Danny Tarkanian, the son of legendary basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian, who is running for Secretary of State in Nevada.

For the House races, it is in the interest of Armenian Americans to vote for those candidates who are either members of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues or have pledged to join it after the election. Voters may contact Armenian lobbying organizations in Washington before Nov. 7, to check the affiliations of the congressional candidates in their districts. In case neither candidate in a particular race is a member of the Caucus or a supporter of Armenian issues, the preference should be given to the Democrat in order to assure a Democratic majority in the House. Cong. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), a long time friend of the Armenian community, would then become Speaker of the House, replacing Cong. Dennis Hastert, who not only has broken his pledge repeatedly, but has actively blocked the Armenian Genocide resolution from being brought to a floor vote. Given her long-standing record on Armenian issues, it is anticipated that Cong. see below.

If you have not heard about the Jim Webb situation, you should check it out. Assuming I am on the fence, why should I vote for him. Please spare me the usual blather about how you think the other guy is a [fill in the blank] and stick with the facts. The inability to do so is what originally led me astray in the first place.

When a voter cast a vote for a candidate, it is counted for that candidate by VOTING MACHINE. Since there is no physical proof, Machine may or may not be altered by design or by "REMOTE ELECTRONICS GADGET CONTROL" . Whether "such a machine" or "REMOTE CONTROL" can be design? In such a away that MACHINE will count all VOTE CASTED for only one particular candidate.

I don't have a problem with people voicing their opinions if they voted, but come on. You don't vote, you can't complain.

We’re living in a time of senseless terrorism. Terrorists attacked America like the Japanese at Pearl Harbor…twice, and unprovoked each time. And America’s looking for a scapegoat to blame for not finding a quick solution to combating the existence of these failed human beings, who call themselves terrorists... Failed human beings who not only have a flagrant disregard for the life of innocent women and children in their own country, but for their own life as well.

Why don't we just poll from the american people instead?
With the electoral college, many american votes do not count in my opinion. The electors votes are what counts. Evidence of this is the 2000 elections where Al gore won the votes of majority of the americans yet because Bush won the electoral votes. He was appointed as our fearless leader. I believe that the electoral college should be taken out becauee it wastes time and many. we have to poll the american people any way in both cases. We might as well do it directly,

Such a question may sound glib, but I think it's still worth asking.
Is it simply a matter of who has the campaign funds?

Or is it more a matter of people's unconscious masochism;Clinging to whomever wields the whip of capitalist induced classism in stockholm style fashion.

Your thoughts please.................

It's nice that there are commercials saying what he or she is for and what their opponent is not for when they are putting out their own ad. But is there any way or place to see what various politicians are actually doing or have actually said?

Incumbent Senator George Webb is rated "A+" by the NRA. Most Democrats are rated "F" or "D", because of their known intent to severely limit or totally ban legally owned firearms in America. Democrat Jim Webb is unrated, a "QUESTION MARK". He should clearly state his position on this and all matters of interest to the voters, so they can make an informed decision.

(Oct. 27) - "What happens in Las Vegas, stays in Las Vegas." Right? Not if you're a politician running for the highest office in the state.

That's what Republican Rep. Jim Gibbons, who is campaigning for governor of Nevada, has learned.

For Gibbons, Friday the 13th proved an unlucky day. That was the day when Gibbons and his campaign adviser stopped by McCormick and Schmick's restaurant to get out of the rain and down a nightcap or two.

Somehow the two of them ended up at a table with a couple of women who were later joined by two other women, Chrissy Mazzeo and her friend Penny Puhek.

Mazzeo said she called Las Vegas police later that night and told them that Gibbons forced her up against the wall of a parking garage and threatened her after he'd made unwanted advances over drinks earlier in the restaurant bar.

The two also disagree over how much each imbibed on the evening in question. Both have claimed they each had only a couple glasses wine, etc. etc.,...

The beauracracy that is our political party system ensures that a single vote has no value. To have any say in the world, you either have to have alot of money and time or be entrenched in an existing political party for years. Everything requires you to nod to the guy that has been around.
