Considering a presidential run, and a huge beacon of hope for the Democrats, he seems to be very popular. Are there people who don't like him that we don't hear about, and if so, what is their (or your) oppositon?

Alright, I didn't want to add bias by stating my opinion, but with a few answers and my direct opinion asked, I'm very excited by the prospect of candidate Obama. I hate that his race is a factor at all, and I certainly don't think that the Democrats are using that to swing black voters (I know Gore got 89% of the black vote, and I'm pretty sure Kerry was around the same). Specifically, I've noticed in his podcast he frequently refers to the problem of education, as "the current school system was designed in the 18th century" (maybe 19th?). What I'm trying to say is, I like the guy. A lot.

He's really charismatic, but he's too inexperienced now, less than 2 years as Senator. If you're looking for someone to work for you, wouldn't you want to ask the applicants what kind of related experience they have? For now, he should be the inspiration for the Democrat Party, and plan to run later with more experience.

I don't have any opposition. I think he's great, although young, but maybe that is what this country needs - someone young, energetic and with a lot of spirit and hope. I am just quite skeptical that the US good ole boys' network and big business will support a black man's run for the Oval Office. I also worry that should he win he could be a target of some viscious racists who would assassinate him. What would be interesting is a ticket with Hilary Clinton as the presidential candidate and Obama as VP. The racist idiots wouldn't assassinate Hilary knowing a black man would become president.

He is very popular, but i think for all the wrong reasons. Granted he is a good politician. He has become the Dems poster boy for Black Candidates and trying to swing the black vote. I think they are just using him.

Obama who???
He is a very junior, light skinned, youthfully appealing statesman who is being marketed as a test to see just how many DEMs would rather not be stuck with Hillary ,Kerry or whoever else G. Soros decides to try and use ....
No worries for Obama tho.. He can always be picked up by Hollywood as they can always use a pretty face unafraid to preach their political viewpoint...

I think Senator Obama is a breath of fresh air that we've all needed for a long time. I watched and listened to him on Oprah a couple weeks ago and was very intrigued by his values and believes. Since then I've heard a few people cap on him......ie...a talk radio I ran into listening to Sirius online. But no biggie...People who have a low opinion of a new face in town, usually have a low opinion of themselves. Too afraid and set in their ways to look at things from a new perspective....
In a nutshell..,......I like the man.! ! ! ! !
He's got my vote for sure.....
What about you?

His only enemies are racists. He doesn't really have an agenda as yet. He seems to be a very nice person and is well liked in his state. I wish him luck but even as he would make a fantastic candidate I do not think he would win in 2008. I would vote for him however. Whatever happens, I think he will do well in whatever his endeavors.

From the little I've seen of him,he appears to decent person. As far as his issues go,I don't know enough about him right now to make an informed decision as to whether I would vote for him or not.His race would be of no consideration for me,race does not make the man.

if not, there should be. hes a smooth talker and people become seduced by his charm, but after all is said and done, he is a major lib through and through and to be avoided at all costs. he can never ever be president and NOT because he is black, but BECAUSE HE IS A SOCIALIST LIB.

Personally, I really like him. I have heard (could be a rumor) that he is opposed to gay marriage, though. I hope not. He seems quite perfect.
