They have no lawyer(s) or choice(s) of a trial to non-plead guilty.
Either confess or spend the rest of your life in jail.
I do not believe their confessions are true.

Do you believe the confessions of these prisoners? Why or Why Not?

RTI Act 2005 is a wonderful empowerment to a citizen. It would bring transparency and accountability in due course.
Its awareness is still in infancy stage, help groups can contribute constructively in this sphere.

Post. Post. Post.
How many of you really are Involved in even your Local politics? ... much less anything else? Do you just blow hot air here? What do you really do? I'd be willing to bet some of you don't even vote. Name something you've done within the last year to try to make a difference on a political or social issue.

I got a summons in the mail, and it's for a day that I have a trip planned. I'm obviously not going to cancel it so what do I do?

Here's the thing though. It says that I am in a standby group. I am to call the day before to see if I actually have to report. So, basically, I may not have to end up going.

Has anyone else ever been on standby? When this happens are my chances of not having to go in good or not?

What should I do about the mail that keeps coming. She's getting mail as if she still lives here. I think she is using this address so that she doesn't have to pay certain bills. The mail look like important stuff.

We have long pendency of cases in various courts, justice delayed is justice denied.
There are many factors for this: (1) lack or poor infra-structure, (2) less number of judges and courts for the huge population, (3) Adjournments, (4) large number of cases involving govt. as a litigant, (5) amendments to archival laws lying pending, (6)lack of transparency and accountability of public authorities, etc.
Is it that the we have become more of law breakers than law abiders which is the main reasons of increase in number of cases in courts?

Hey,

I live in Massachusetts and just got done serving jury duty in March 2007 (this month). It was for Massachusetts Superior Court; I was on a jury. Can I still get a summons for Federal District court or Grand Jury before my 3 years without service to the state are up? People I work with (not my boss, who was cool with it and totally understanding) got a tad upset that they had to cover me for the 3 days I was serving and would like to reassure them that I won't be getting called away again anytime soon.

I left the U.S. about 5 years ago and I honestly don't know if I should file for taxes I owe or to see if I'm owed a refund check. Is there a website where I can just type in my SS number and find out my status? I've tried the internue revenue service website, but can't find a link where I can check my status. I'd appreciate any help.
