They have no lawyer(s) or choice(s) of a trial to non-plead guilty.
Either confess or spend the rest of your life in jail.
I do not believe their confessions are true.

Do you believe the confessions of these prisoners? Why or Why Not?

Should we believe the claims that they were tortured?

In fact - anybody who claims that people were tortured at Gitmo are accusing the troops of war crimes. Do they have any evidence to back up their accusations?

Sounds like these people do not 'support the troops' - instead they support any accusations (no matter how unreasonable) made against those troops.

BTW - my brother served at Gitmo, are you accusing him of torture?

How can they confess when they don't know the half of the charges?

If they've been caught red handed why haven't they been formally charged and tried? So much for due process. Oh wait.......

These "detainees" are being held in a circumvention of the law. Gitmo is not considered US soil, so the people there do recieve the rights they would be given if they were actually in the US.

Its nearly as clever as the Rendition process where in "detainees" are taken from countries where torture is prohibited to prisons is countries where torture is allowed.

The confessions are very suspect, and they seem very convenient for the government.

The men may have been tortured; there is no way to prove their confessions, and all confessions gained from torture must be suspect.

One of the men seemed to be bragging and exaggerating his role. Perhpas he was involved in one or more terrorist acts, even as a leader. However, the general veracity of his statements is questionable.

No, they have been detained without warrant or charges, have had no access to legal council, have been isolated and detained in conditions that are less than humane.

The fact that these people are willing to admit to everything down to running over your grandmother's cat should be a testament to why these confession cannot be taken seriously.

Sorry above poster but: The United States Government has already convicted military service personnel of such.

And don't forget our government's policy has been to outsource torture as well ...

When Uncle Sam believes he is Above the Geneva Convention, United Nations Human Rights Council, American Civil Liberties Union and Amnesty International, he's gotten Too big for his britches.

Our government representatives whether elected, appointed, contracted or salaried do just that ... represent US. We hold accountability as United States of America citizens. Is it any wonder the world passes judgment on US?

What are you going to do?

There is no valid reason to believe any admissions from the prisoners in Guantanamo.

The admissions reportedly by Khalid Sheik Muhammed highlight the incredulity of admissions by those held captive and likely tortured.

When a person is tortured, in any manner, they can be made to say anything.
