What is the value of one life? 1,000? 10,000?

No, not cheaper. More costly than can be measured by dollars.

Of course not. Let's for a moement, assume that this war has anything to do with oil. If that were the case, the people sponsoring the war would want the oil for themselves so they could make even more money from rather than buying it from Iraq. The would not want to pass any savings on to us. If you check into it, you will see that in the last few years, the oil companies have recorded record profits. This tells me that they raised the price of gas and oil-related products much more than they needed to. Why would the do this? Well, they did it to find out just how much we would pay.

I would doubt it sincerely. We would have to remove the oil from a war zone, which is going to be expensive to do and that would push the price of gasoline up ever higher. Also, invading and occupying a country costs a lot in fuel (tanks, jets, that kind of thing) so there would be far more demand on what supply is there: again, the price goes up.

Um, so mass murder and theft sound like good ideas to you?

Disgusting.

It's not OUR oil; it's their oil.

Stealing it would be wrong, and invading another country and slaughtering its people is not only illegal, it's also wrong.

Besides, as others have pointed out, oil companies are in it to make obscene piles of money -- they would never pass any savings on to the consumer.

The way to go is to develop and shift to non-petrol energy -- then we can make our own, and not spend the big bucks, and not destroy the planet in the process.

no, we dont invade for oil, and our gas prices are overinflated anyway, look at the profits of the companies that are producing gasoline, its rape, and should be illegal, gas shouldnt be over 1.00 a gallon, and the oil companies will still make billions

Of course not! Why would the Government lower the prices when it's obvious that we will pay the price not matter how high it goes?
