reasons i feel people do not vote; unaware of the issues, social stigma that it doesnt count, plain old laziness. in some states the out come may be pretty much decided because they are pretty sure they can count on some group not to vote on larger elections. Some states are majority democrat or republican sure and when it comes for voting on higher offices its either one or the other too but you can still go out an vote. Voting for your city councilman, mayors or other lower level public elects, these influence the higher officials and working of the government in a whole.

Like posterboard companies and magic marker companies with all the protest signs...we libelsa nd independents need.

See you at the big one tomorrow --185 cities --wow..that's a lot of posters and it's just one...of so many protests since this administration took over and ruined so many things.

Maybe you republicans should invest on the posterboard/market companies. Stock must be going through the roof and we know how much you love your money.

For those sending your typical mean responses..you are just mad...so many people don't like your picks...mad we still have the constitutional rights to peaceably assemble...

Congressman Kucinich has introduced an amendment to the "help America vote act" that will require all presidential elections be done on paper ballots hand counted at the precinct to prevent voting machine fraud/or errors or glitches.

It is HB 6200 and it has 19 cosigners.

The few mninutes you spend could pay off big.

Just email your congressperson and ask them to cosponsor and support HB 6200.

Find out who your representative is here and how to contact them.

http://www.house.gov/writerep/

Also spread the word to all you know or to blogs you frequent. Thank you so much.

This isn't really a partisan issue..we need to be sure all the votes count and are counted asnd this will help.

Here's my theory, the vast majority of americans are for the Border fence, whether they want to admit or not. I would say at least 75%. Out of that 75%, I bet 50% would put there money where there mouth is. Here's my plan: we offer our citizens the chance to be a part of history. Buy a plaque for $100 to put your family names on, and the names of your LEGAL IMMIGRANT family members, and a choice of saying related to liberty, the rule of law, etc. Part of the money pays for the plaque, the other part helps pay for the fence. Your plaque goes on the fence and faces Mexico.

read the entire things and then reply.

f you want to read about the voters I met on Nov 2nd 2004 in the rain, in line up to 13 hours, risking health and job loss to vote, then you will read this. Every American should read this.

It is first hand knowledge of what happened here in Ohio in 2004 by a voting rights advocate. You can call me a liar, Republicans, but I know that I am a Christian and I know what I saw.

HERE IN OHIO..there were record turnouts...We took to the streets in record numbers and registered 10 times more democrats than republicans..I spoke to people as I worked the polls who had never voted or never voted for 15 or 20 years who turned out.

We waited in lines up to 13 hours to vote..in the freezing rain with winds so strong they blew up umbrella inside out repeatedly and blew away my chair ..We handed out free food and trashbags and drinks and brought chairs..We encouraged each other to wait in line despite angry bosses, crying kids, and saw elderly

I'm unemployed and red tape is holding up benefits. However, scroungers bleed £10's of thousands out of the system.
What u all think of this idea? Any unemployed recieving benefits should instead recieve food stamps (much like ration books of WW2) with their names printed on each one (to prevent any black market).
U sign on as normal but also include any children under ur care (giving evidence of proof; birth certificate, etc). The total should be the bare minimium to get by on, all in stamps and vouchers that companies can recoup off the government.
It's a bit harsh I know, but I hate seeing hard-working folks like us allowing scroungers the lap of luxury. Let me know what u all think.
