I think that Mr. Lincoln would not be Republican or Democrat... he'd be appalled at the mess we've allowed a handful of overprivleged rich-kids to make of our once great nation.
We haven't had a working class president in this country since Mr. Nixon. As a result we end up with a governing group that has no concept of the working class.
Gas is allowed to skyrocket. Medical mercenaries live in palaces that equal Saddam's and our elected officials go about their pompous unknowing manner.
We need a president that knows what it's like to "do without" as a child. Someone who knows what it's like to float a check till payday. We need someone that realizes the anguish of paying your electric bill or eating.
Nothing against rich people, but don't they have better things to do than muck up America?

Corporations spend $2.4 billion on lobbyist in Washington. Lincoln would have none of that, he was a honest man. We have no honest people in Congress, they are all crooks and all of them take bribes.
Organized crime is alive a well in America now, some call it Congress. I call it what it really is. Crime.

Independant... all of the founding fathers would be independant. Following the leader on every issue just wouldn't fly with them.
