Children of undocumented immigrants are paying a high price for tough, new US immigration policies, according to a study released Wednesday, which said minors often are left behind when their parents are detained or deported.

I read that the United States Veterans Affairs Department uses more tax dollars than any other department except for the Department of Defense. How is this possible? With a 5 trillion dollar deficit how can the US continue paying?

And Bush is the one who is trying to maintain our way of life. Yes, he is misleading. But, in the end, we are the ones who wage war by demanding oil in our everyday lives.
If we never needed oil, why would Bush fight, and sacrifice thousands of soldiers?
Of course, he personally benefits from it. But general population benefits from war even greatly - If of course oil is the priority.
I do not hold any political position, I am rather curious.

Before answering, remember that enforcement of our immigration laws in the 1960's led to automation in tomato-harvesting. To this DAY, automation (provided by well-paid engineers, rep's, marketing specialists, techs, etc) is so much cheaper than manual labor, NO MAJOR GROWER is using labor, today!

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Now that iraq is settling down and even FALLUJAH the terrorist stronghold is safe, where are the liberals now?

The United States was a lawless place during our founding as a nation, why would it be different elsewhere?

Is this further proof that the surge is working?

It appears to me NY wants to get Drivers lic for illegals for only 2 reasons. Once one is the money the state will generate form issuing one...the other is so the illegals can have access to be voters.

I have heard it's for none of this...it's for safety reasons. Are they trying to tell me an illegal will be a safer driver if he has a license in his back pocket????....I don't think so.

Let me know your reason behind this issue.

I find capital punishment to be barbaric. I am personally opposed to abortion, but don't feel my view should be imposed upon others or that the government should be involved in something so personal. I struggle with the fact that I am willing to stand up for basic human rights of murderers and child-molesters, but would allow abortions to continue to those who seek them.

Is it possible??? Or would it be a wasted effort out of desperation??? I really want to get into the Air Force and this whole "specific MOS-qualified prior service personnel only" BS is getting old... If someone wants to get in so bad that they would contemplate throwing away their prior service record it should mean something to the recruiter to at least attempt to accomodate that person... RIGHT???

The Phelps stated on 2020 tonight "we are a nation of laws" while a video played of their children kicking the American flag like a football. This same statement has been made many times on this forum, are we really a nation of laws? Why aren't all of the "true Americans" protesting this treatment of our flag? Is it ok because these are American citizens and not illegal immigrants?
