The Phelps stated on 2020 tonight "we are a nation of laws" while a video played of their children kicking the American flag like a football. This same statement has been made many times on this forum, are we really a nation of laws? Why aren't all of the "true Americans" protesting this treatment of our flag? Is it ok because these are American citizens and not illegal immigrants?

Obviously some do not follow the news, this minister stepped on the flag just last week, the links are to stories about the entire family and the flag. They ARE adults, and where do you think the children learn it from..

Fear is the killer of reason. What are you afraid of?
No. We are a nation of laws in fantasy (myth) only.
George is above the law as are the bootlickers in his administration.
A good number of the police are also above the law.
Blackwater USA is above the law.
W wants ATT & Verizon to also be above the law.
Pelosi and the Democrats allow this to continue so that one day, they will also join the elites who set themselves above the law.
And they distract you with infotainment so you will pay no attentioon to the travesties they inflict on the LAW.

We were once a nation of law, but since the 80's we are slowly moving away from that and people are again believe might makes right. Just look at Bush. I'm shocked that stamping on our flag is illegal. I would think it's protected by Freedom of speech. I never heard anyone stating that anyone protesting against our immigration law should be jailed specifically for abusing our flag. I 've heard them complain about it, but that's covered by freedom of speech as well.
As for the meat of your question. I would like our country to move back to having our laws being interpreted as if it was black and white. I see so much abuse . Judges reinterpret laws so it would favor one race while attacking the another. I'm wonderinf if the flag mutilation law is part of Kansas state law. I remember that our congress was going to outlaw flag burning, but I thought they dropped that, when someone pointed out that the proper way to dispose of a flag, was to burn it.
Edit: Didn't the article say that the kids were charged with a misdeamenor? I distinctly saw videos of immigration protestors burning the flag in front of the police, and teh police just ignored him.

Can you imagine if these kids were the children of loyal defenders of the U.S.? What would any self-respecting Colonel or Sergeant do if his/her kids were doing that? My GAWD even Hillary's daughter?
To the question(s):
[A] Yes. We are a nation of lawS. Plural. The laws of science, natural law (the several definitions) and the law of conscience. "No law is stronger than the respect of those subject to it." [soMEone] In other words, our lawmakers never assumed people would be forced to submit to legislation since it was the people who voted them in and, if they lacked reciprocity, would vote them out.
[B] Most true Americans WILL (if they see this) protest in the most powerful and CORRECT method: by telling their kids "If I EVER catch you..."
[C] No, it isn't ok. But it means something quite different. An illegal has absolutely no stated loyalty, much-less a definite, written sworn loyalty to the U.S. Kids of U.S. citizens, if their parents have any pride in their nation at all, will have been admonished as to the dangers of division and the value of simply being resolute in their convictions
Also, illegals in the marches were ADULTS, not kids. I hope you can mention that you know the difference. Thanks.

Yes we are a nation of laws. People break them and they have to accept the reality that if caught there will be consequences.
And it is really pretty weak to to try and compare multiple unrelated topics and say something inane like "why not protest this....is ie becuase they are citizens".
I mean really--how childish is that really? Pretty petulent for a grown woman.
I don't like anyone desecrating the flag, regardless of who they are.
I dont like illegal aliens either.
One has NOTHING to do with the other.

Its only a nation of laws for citizens. Eveyone else can do what they please. And kicking a flag? Bush has drained all the meaning out of it anyway, why isnt he being reprimanded? There are bigger issues than a kid kicking a flag. How about the kids in the SW burning down business' that wont hire illegals?

YES WE ARE A NATION OF LAWS.
WITHOUT THEM WE WOULD BE NO BETTER THAN OUR THIRD WORLD NEIGHBORS.
IT IS LAWS THAT MAKE PEOPLE BE ABLE TO EXPRESS THEIR OPINION WITHOUT BEING TORTURED OR EXECUTED.
