It doesn't, as Florida demonstrated. Each major gun control law passed has been followed by an increase in crime. And then there is the racist nature of gun control, from the begining. A major proponent of gun control, Robert Sherrill frankly admitted that the Gun Control Act of 1968 was "passed not to control guns but to control Blacks." [R. Sherrill, The Saturday Night Special, p. 280 (1972).] (GMU CR LJ, p. 80) "The Gun Control Act of 1968 was passed not to control guns but to control blacks, and inasmuch as a majority of Congress did not want to do the former but were ashamed to show that their goal was the latter, the result was they did neither."

owning guns do not increase crimes. There are statistics that prove were gun ownership is high less crime is committed. In the UK were owning a gun is illegal gun related crimes are at a all time high. Handguns are no different than any other gun. I own many guns and carry a pistol were ever i go. And i have never committed a crime.

the subject in uk is their courts proceed to fail to hold the criminal to blame for the crime. they like to blame the owner of the gun or knife for the act. 2 motives - first, the gun proprietor or knife proprietor in all possibility has greater $$ and can be fined for any damages. 2d - their courts have become politically appropriate the place anybody can plead non everlasting insanity, etc etc and via putting the blame on the object it frees the court docket from digging into the criminals previous background. little question as quickly as the knife registration and ban is completely operational and this is desperate ten years later no longer something became accomplish...... they're going to pass directly to registering hammers, hatchets, forks, etc etc until there is not any longer something left to sign up. Australia is a much better occasion of why we would desire to maintain the 2d ammendment. They spent greater beneficial than $4 Billion funds to purchase back almost each and every of the firearms interior the country - and made it fairly confusing for farmers to get any. as quickly as each and every of the weapons got here off the streets violent crime larger two hundred% to 500% in all areas. in spite of the undeniable fact that the politicians declare the gun purchase software became a sucess - there is not any stastistic which will instruct this......each and every little thing factors to the inability of weapons larger the crime value dramatically.... nevertheless, this is a fulfillment. Duh? desire this permits.

It depends upon who owns the gun. When emotionally unstable peeps or those with criminal intent own the guns, they tend to go out and commit crimes with them. They might still commit the crimes without the guns, but the crimes would then be much less deadly. Ever hear of a mass stabbing?

It depends on who owns the gun. If a potential criminal owns the gun, it might make him more likely to commit a crime. If a potential victim owns the gun, it might make the potential criminal less likely to commit a crime.
If everyone has guns, there tends to be less crime than if guns are illegal. See Switzerland and the UK for examples.

Handguns make attractive targets for theft. They have a great after market and are very portable.
More handguns means more thefts. Forgive the pun, they are targets of opportunity.
Guy pulls a rubber chicken out of his pocket and shouts "your money or your wife." you say fine, take her.
Guy pulls a gun, not so funny.

having handguns easily accessible makes it easier to committ a crime. Guns dont kill people, but still it would be a lot harder to do a drive by shooting or shoot up a school with a rifle instead of a 9mm

It allows criminals to be charged with multiple offenses. For example, armed robbery + unlawful possession. While it is not actually increasing crime, it does double the hit on the stats.

It puts protection in the hands of law abiding folks.Criminals will get guns anyway probably illegally. If they do away with gun ownership ,then only the criminals will be armed.Crime would then go up for sure.
