What a joke! Soldiers must, but apparently State Dept employees feel they shouldn't have to! You're right George, they must go or be sacked!!

The best thing they could do is go down the list from top to bottom firing people who won't go. Now there's a way to save some government money and clean out the state department at the same time.

Yes it is right. It's called being the boss, dumbass. I can't just call into my job tomorrow and tell the boss that I don't feel like showing up this week. I'd be out on my a.s.s tomorrow. If these people really have a problem working in Iraq, they are always free to leave at any time. Nobody is putting a gun to their head, so I don't get what you mean by their being "forced" to serve there.

I agree. Like it was said they aren't under contract to follow orders like the military is. They can always turn in their resignation and go wherever they want.

They are not being forced, they can go to their next assignment or get another job.

They have it easy, the military people can refuse to go and face prison time.

State Department - Voluntary, good pay

Military - Voluntary, not good pay
