I lean to the left, but I don't hate America. I think America's great, even if our government doesn't make the best decisions. That's not necessarily a reflection on the American character, spirit, and values, though.

I even served in the U.S. Army for 6 years, including 2 tours overseas.

Even though I served over there, I don't support the war, and never did (part of the reason I got out last year). It's a drain on our resources that we could be spending here. There are a lot of Iraqis that resent our presence, and those who like us are mainly just like our money.

My conservative friends say this makes me unpatriotic. I don't know what more I can do to prove them otherwise.

My dad fought in Desert Storm, in the Gulf War, and he has glaucoma, and some form of rosacea(so the doctors at the VA tell him), he thinks that its from some of the chemicals the CIA blew up, a few miles from were he was.
Is there any Vets that have these's same problems?Have you done anything about it?Has the VA done anything about it?What did you do?

Thats the most simplistic way for me to tell it.

I got to thinking this when I posted my last answer. Check my profile, it's a humdinger.

I had fun writing a response to some crazy psychoanalytical intelligent person who has a background in politics.

I got a speeding ticket over 150 miles from my house and since I'm 16, I apparently have to come to court with my guardian. This is not possible, not only do I not have the money to pay the stupid thing, IT'S A 3 HOUR DRIVE! So I was forced to take a warrant for my arrest. Anyways, I was wondering since I haven't payed it yet...Does my insurance know? And will they raise my rates?

I was in Seattle the other day and watching CNN. Seemed like half the news was about the upcoming election (nov. 2008). It seems like politicians spend two years campaigning. When do they actually get anything done?

Since we allow those closest to our borders to immigrate themselves by the millions how about allowing Asians, Africans, Philipinos and Canadians to immigrate themselves and overload our medical and welfare and other systems. Also over load various jobs by the thousands.

Which would be better obama or clinton?
Hilary Clinton would seem like she would have expreince and it would be a huge deal if we had a woman president andit would be kinda cool to live in that period. But im not a big fan of her.
Barack obama would seem like a good president. he seems like a nice guy and would make a good president. it would also be a big deal if we had our first black president.u

Mcain seems like he really cares about important issuses such as New Olrans and future of sucess for nedding kids. but I think people will vote for obama or clinton because of race and gender

Who willl you vote for?
Who do you think has the highest chance?

How about allowing other countries to illegally immigrate to the U. S. by the masses... Like the Philipines, Africa, Germans,Canadians, and who ever else who would love to come and work in the U. S. in the Hundreds of thousands. At least it would then be a little more palitable.

If the social, fiscal and security conservative trinity isnt satisfied the republicans would never win another election..Its probably best we put the party out of its misery with a 3rd party if Guliani is nominated..You agree

It seems like the courts are now saying that it is not humaine to put someone to death(even by injection). It doesn't seem to matter how they have murdered, or who they have murdered and why they murdered! Is it really so inhumane to put someone to death whom has raped and murdered countless innocent children? If you listen to what the courts are saying now, it is WRONG! I do not know? Sometimes I think our country has lost it collective minds!! Anyway...what is you opinion on this issue?

Let me know what you would think of a little friendly competition between the free market health care system and a government controlled one. What would be the result? Can anyone name a government controlled system that is run better than a private one? The military is not an option for obvious reasons.

I'm 20 years old and in the Air Force and i just started a thrift saving plan (L Fund). For those of you that have TSP, is it actually any good? I mean, it's like a 401k but the main reason why i created an account was because i heard TSP would match 5% of your contribution. I later found out that, that was for civilian government employee only, not military members. I also have a Roth IRA with $10,000 saved up. So, should i stop contributing to TSP and put more money into my Roth IRA? Or still invest in TSP??
