How about allowing other countries to illegally immigrate to the U. S. by the masses... Like the Philipines, Africa, Germans,Canadians, and who ever else who would love to come and work in the U. S. in the Hundreds of thousands. At least it would then be a little more palitable.

Well other citizens of other countries would like to be here. Why give such a high preference to the ones on this border. How about a balance a mixture...Instead of seeing all of these people why not allow others to freely immigrate themselves because they want too..

It is wrong for this to happen. Can other people from other countries come in and do this? Can we go into another country and try to immigrate because you want too....I think you would see it would not happen - expecially in mass numbers. It needs to change. It is not fair to let one group come in and do this.

Well other countries are watching....If people can do this. What is the difference - I am sure there are some sneak ins from other countries who have immigrated themselves, but not in mass numbers. Also the laws have been written on this issue, they are just being trampled and ignored. Just anybody is already here...Look at all the new issues check the fastest growing areas and see the crime levels. Look at New York and New Jersey...read the newspapers.

Your talking open border. That would mean hundreds of millions would come. We can't even handle the millions here. The Southwest is in a severe drought. Many of those here wants to keep the situation as is , because there is a racist agenda to give Mexicans preference, therefore political power. I'm in favor of closing the border, and have stricter penalties for illegal immigrants, and increasing certain temporary visas. I get attacked for advocating a fairer system that would allow a more diverse immigrant group. I point out that 50% of illegal immigrants are Mexicans and over 75% are Hispanic, but there are poorer poeple than Mexicans out there. That if we want to show compassion, we should give prefrence to countries in need or allow people to come in a more representative ratio of the world. I get racist tyrades in response to my ideas.

That is a huge point in the rest of the world. The reason our 'diversity lottery' exists for green cards is because there are so many more coming from so few countries that happen to be geographically connected that it 'shuts out' those from the rest of the world. While a lot of this immigration is illegal, if they get legalized (as used to be fairly easy to do) they can then bring family further shutting out the legal slots available to the rest of the world.

In fact, the San Francisco Chronicle quoted the negotiator for La Raza, who, unlike US citizen groups from any other slant, was let into negotiations with the Gang of 12 of the immigration bill this summer as opposing a 'point system' over chain migration because 'we don't want to let just ANYONE in....'

Racism can go in more than one direction.

I think you mean other countries' citizens...

Our economy does not have the demand for unskilled labor of that magnitude. We have a service economy, and are gradually becoming an expertise economy, which only offers economic wellbeing to highly educated and skilled workers. Such a thing would create countless poor, unemployed and homeless in this country.

We aren't "allowing" the illegals who ARE here. Instead, how about dealing with the illegals using attrition and deportation and THEN fairly raising quotas so that all people are equally and proportionately represented in legal immigration.

Palatable for whom? Mass immigration legal or otherwise is not good for the economy. We already have a huge problem with illegal immigration why on earth would you want to compound it?

if you allow africans to get here,,, I dont want to sound racist you will make usa like africa,, already blacks kill each other here, but hiv will grow in stupid numbers, canadians already immigrate here, and all the others u mention come here, germans dont come here that often since their economy is not that bad, philipinos wants to get here, sure let everyone come here, then usa will have no choice to refuse everyone and hate everyone else who is not white cause if there were soo many africans and illegal asians, how authorities will know who is illegal, since kids who were brought here speak english with no accent? your question doesnt make sense, people already hate and generalize all latinos calling us mexicans,

No. We do not need a crowded country. We just might run out of oil, food, space etc. A lot of illegals are already here, I know they are in the town where I live.

I got a better idea; how about every one staying in their own country? NO immigration whatsoever.
