Or is it just a sad attempt to get recognized by people you will never meet?

Though I would rather be recognized by the person that asked the question, when it's is put up for a vote, if one vote turns the tide, so be it.

I understand everyone is angry about the illegal immigration issue but I think it is very extreme to state that you "want to shoot all illegals in the face" or that they should all be killed. Illegally coming into this country is a misdemeanor. Since when do we start killing people over misdemeanors? Does that mean if I steal a pack of cigarettes from the 7/11 that I deserve to be shot and killed? This is outrageous, inhumane, and extremely hateful behavior to me. I've read many times on here about people wanting illegals shot and it just makes me sad and angry at the same time that we have americans out there that act this way and make us all look bad. When are we going to start being angry with OUR government that let the immigration situation get out of control and stop hating on people?

Liberals always say that they are smart and someone that doesn't agree with them (Bush) is stupid, a moron, an idiot, retarded, etc etc. Why is it always the same insult? Why do they have this bizarre fixation with perceived intelligence? Don't emotionally immature adolesants call people stupid in hopes that it deflects attention away from their own lack of intelligence?

Have you noticed Repukes are in full retreat?

Yahoo! has banned over 300 of them in the last 48 hours.

And since now bans are using the IP, that means any new account they create will be banned within a few hours.

Take that, Cons! =)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. agents arrested about 195 people in more than a dozen states in a crackdown on illegal immigrants involving a maintenance business for theme restaurants like Hard Rock Cafe, officials said on Thursday.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency also

charged three individuals who operated the company with failing to pay more than $18.6 million in federal employment taxes and for hiding the profits which were later used to buy luxury boats, homes and racehorses.

The immigration agency unsealed a 23-count indictment against three Florida residents who operated the business, Rosenbaum-Cunningham International Inc., for harboring illegal immigrants, tax evasion and conspiracy.

The firm provided cleaning and maintenance services to popular hospitality venues and restaurants like Hard Rock Cafe, ESPN Zone and House Of Blues, taking in more than $54.3 million between 2001 and 2005, the immigration service said.

"Employers who brazenly violate our immigration laws will be held accountable for their illicit actions," Julie Myers, assistant secretary of homeland security in charge the immigration agency, said in a statement.

Officials arrested about 195 people in 17 states and the District of Columbia for violations of immigration status.

A message on an answering machine for the Florida business said it had ceased operations as of Thursday. The government said its investigation was ongoing.

The Bush administration and Congress have been trying to draft legislation aimed at dealing with the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States and the roughly 12 million already in the country.

"Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised. This regime has already used weapons of mass destruction against Iraq's neighbors and against Iraq's people.

The regime has a history of reckless aggression in the Middle East. It has a deep hatred of America and our friends. And it has aided, trained and harbored terrorists, including operatives of al Qaeda.

The danger is clear: using chemical, biological or, one day, nuclear weapons, obtained with the help of Iraq, the terrorists could fulfill their stated ambitions and kill thousands or hundreds of thousands of innocent people in our country, or any other."

I am working for a UK company in the US and have been in NY with an L1 visa (financed by us) since September 2001 with my family. The company's immigration lawyer filed an I-140 and I-485 last May and we are waiting for green card approval which we are told we should receive in about a month's time. I understand that once we are approved I still have to stay with my company for 180 days before getting another job or I will lose residency status and would have to return to the UK. I have heard a strong rumour that I could possibly lose my job in a couple of months and this would be terrible as we have invested so much in staying here. We are an 'at will' company so it is easier to be let people go without reason. I obviously want to keep my job and I have just found out I am pregnant. I have not told my company as I am only 6 weeks gone. Would I have a stronger case for staying if I let them know I am pregnant?

The con-reps had a Republican president and control of Congress for six years. They had control of how America was to deal with foreign policy. The president said there were WMDs in Iraq, so we invaded. No WMDs. After nearly four years we still haven't brought Iraq under control. How do the con-reps deal with it ?
1.By saying that we wil win in Iraq despite evidence to the contrary.
2. By saying the reason we haven't won yet is because of liberal democrats.
According to con-reps it's not THEIR fault. Why are con-reps so lacking in the courage necessary to admit they are the one's primarily responsible for Iraq. And who in their right mind would respect anything they would have to say ?

I am trying to understand the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In 1947, the United Nations proposed a partition plan giving 55% of the disputed territory for a Jewish state and the rest to the Arabs (excluding international areas such as Jerusalem.) Then, according to the history I know, an independent Jewish state was declared in 1948 and Arab armies attacked (ultimately being defeated and having to give up 77% of Palestine in armistice agreements). Ancient land claims aside (because, like it or not, the Jewish state was an internationally recognized fact that would be defended), it seems it would have been better for the Arabs to accept the partition plan and live peacefully with the Jews at that point. Or is there something that mainstream history isn't telling me? If there are Palestinians who lived this history or have family members that did, I would like to hear your point of view.

Why does the United States, a country with 770 military bases worldwide, feel so threatened by small countries such as Cuba and Venezuela, that we must embargo, sanction or sponsor coup d’etat’s to coerce these nations into a government of our choosing? Isn’t this really about getting a ‘resource’ cheaply as possible on the open market? ...Or in Cuba’s case…about strangling a Communist country for four decades? If Communism is such an abject failure, why do we have to help it along? Does any other country support an embargo on Cuba?…besides Israel? If we really cared about the Cuban people(as some of you will proclaim), why do we continue to punish them?
