If America created and used an energy source cleaner and more efficient than gasoline would we be at war?

Yes we would. The wars we face stem from the human condition, human nature, and are not in any way shap or form related to high rates of fossil fuel consumption.

Everything listed above is true. However, there is one "source" missing from just about every list of alternative energy sources I have seen. That missing item is simply our own behavior. Many of us, me included at times, use more energy than we need. It may be leaving a light on that is unneeded, a television left on when not being watched (or watching way too much television), heating/cooling equipment being made to work too hard, computers being left running, taking too long a shower, etc. The first alternative many of us need to look to is ourselves. If we would simply live a little smaller and look after ourselves, we can be sure not to exhaust what we already have before we find the optimal solution (or the right combination of solutions). Often times, the simplest starting point is our own behavior.

No. There were two reasons for the war. The obvious one is oil the other is that Saddam threatened the life of GHW Bush and Junior wanted revenge.
