Liberals always say that they are smart and someone that doesn't agree with them (Bush) is stupid, a moron, an idiot, retarded, etc etc. Why is it always the same insult? Why do they have this bizarre fixation with perceived intelligence? Don't emotionally immature adolesants call people stupid in hopes that it deflects attention away from their own lack of intelligence?

That's the part I don't get. Bush, love him or hate him, had a terrific education. Came from a great family and was a fighter pilot. He flew one of the most technically challenging aircraft the air force has ever flown. And yet somehow he's stupid while the liberal starbucks employee who drives a 1995 saturn and lives at home is the intelligent one?!

Not true that "every liberal" does this. Besides, stupid, moron, an idiot, retarded are all different insults, so a nice variety is provided. I do think the guy does a lot of stupid things. I don't think he does these stupid things because he's technically stupid. It's actually because he's arrogrant, ignorant, stubborn, thinks he knows all, can't absorb new ideas, thinks chagning one mind is a sign of weakness, etc. He also has an agenda that is bad for most in this country and the world. He does also exhibit some troubling pyschological flaws related to his childhood and "dry drunk" syndrome.

Certainly, critcisms that deal with his actions and decisions are more intllegent than calling him names.

I have never once called Bush an idiot, a moron, or retarded. I cannot do that because It would be an unfair comparison. I'm sure President Bush has his good points, I just have not seen them. I have seen him caught in several lies though. And before you say it ,yes Clinton lied, but not even he could achieve the level of deceit that G. W. exhibits on a regular basis.
In regards to your questioning the intelligence of liberals, this liberal has a Masters of Social Work, a J.D., and an IQ over 200. In closing I would like to thank you for your unbiased reading of this post.

Well yeah sometimes they do.... but sometimes (like in the case of Bush) the other person really IS monumentally STUPID and intelligent people do get so FRUSTRATED that they can't help but lose control and point and yell "Stupid". If people were elected to political office based on intelligence, most everyone in Washington D.C. right now would be out of a job!! Believe it!!

I'm a liberal, and I haven't called them stupid. I just think they've made some really poor decisions. And it goes both ways, pal, liberals have been called every nasty word just as often as republicans, democrats, the green party, and pretty much every singe person in politics. The slander needs to stop and people need to open their ears to opinons from every field - you never know where the next brilliant idea will come from.

Matt, that is an excellent question!! The dems/libs can not have it both ways. If George W. and the Republicans are morons, idiots, stupid dolts then what does that say about their intelligence given that the idiots, dolts managed to STEAL no one but two elections from them? And how can idiotic unintelligent dolts drum up a MASTERFUL conspiracy to undemind Bill Clinton, take over the country and install Christianity as our State Religion?

Which is it dems/libs? Are we just plain lucky idiots........or are we just a lot smarter than you guys give us credit for?

I often find they manufacture something or quote Michael Moore or other equally persuasive source. When I present facts to them THAT's when they tend to go with name calling.

I don't know if you've seen Michelle Malkin's book, "Liberals Unhinged." (Dennis - please read this one because it'll set you straight on who the name-callers truly are).

On the back she has quotes from liberals saying she's ugly, racist statements (she's Asian), she's stupid, etc. but nothing that can deny or refute what she's written.

My friend, here's what you need to remember. Liberals rarely have a leg to stand on so they use leftist resources that are often pretty extreme in their views. (It'd be like conservatives quoting Pat Buchanen as if his word is gospel. Gospel. I crack myself up!)

When liberals are presented with facts I find they tend to do one of five things: 1) They call you stupid, an idiot, a moron, etc. 2) They call you a racist. Or they compare you, your party or those affiliated with your party to Hitler. 3) They attack you personally. 4) They change the subject. 5) They laugh dismissively (like you're just too stupid for them to even waste time explaining to obvious to you).

Because they're hypocrites. I work with a lot of liberals, and I have found the term, "tolerant liberal" to be the biggest oxymoron in the world. Just look how they treat INVITED conservative speakers on campuses around the country. The only freedom of speech most liberals support is their own.

well... I've heard many more people than just liberals call him stupid... first off...

but what happens if someone actually isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer? do you want us to call that person smart anyway?

and I've seen huge lists, I've probably written a few myself, discusses the reasons why he doesn't seem to be the brightest...

basically... if you've got reasons... you could have a point... and I've heard and know of several reasons that point in the "stupid direction"...

but, just to point it out... I've heard many questions like "why are liberals so stupid" too... so this isn't just a "left" issue... see...

Have you ever heard Bush speak without having a speech written by someone else in front of him? That would answer the question.
