Why do we measure gas mileage in miles per gallon? We aren't burning miles, we're burning gas. So wouldn't it make sense that we measure the gas burned per mile? Rather than miles traveled per gallon? Everywhere else in the world uses Liters burned per 100 kilometers, so why not the USA? Using MPG just makes it easier for car manufacturers to manipulate their statistics to fool the consumer. I say we all write letters to congress and tell them we want to change to gallons per 100 miles!

Minorities like African-Americans, Asians and Hispanics make up an increasingly large percentage of the American population, yet are underrepresented in public office. In fact, there is not a single black elected Republican in Congress.

I am thankfully, NOT a product of bilingual education....I was born into a Hispanic family, which spoke little English, since my parents were newly legal immigrants, they spoke little English at first...When I entered the public school system, back in the day, there was no bilingual education, so I had to learn English, at the time I hated....But looking back, I am glad I was forced to learn the language.....Even though I am pro amnesty, I feel it is very important that all immigrants, including illegals, learn the language and assimilate into our culture....Knowing English has afforded me so many opportunities.....I think the proponents of bilingual education do a huge harm to new immigrants by not expecting them to learn English....Are you with me on this, any pro amnesty folks?

Shouldn't people stand by there president? If you are unhappy with him/her show it with your vote in the next election. Meanwhile, you should still support him/her.

Is the U.S.afraid of North Korea? If they are not, let them overrun the place like they did Iraq which didn't even have a single weapon of Mass destruction, they took the pains to topple the government, sent in an occupying force and have altered the lives of Iraq's people for ever.North Korea does not hide the fact that they have weapons of human annihilation, they even tested some missiles a few weeks ago.So why treat them ( North Korea) with kid's gloves?is it because there is no gas in North Korea?

and his utter leadership failure (which is obvious to anyone except the brainwashed Reich Wing) is what is causing their own demise? It's rather hilarious if you think about it.

The same 'blind fervor' of popularity from the GOP's exploitation of the 9-11 attacks and the dead of 9-11, which also gave us the Un-Constitutional breaches from same administration, is the same driving people to the Democratic party?

Even worse than total failure is the inability to recognize failure and ones' own shortcomings. It's typically hilarious when happening on the small scale. Unfortunately for the globe and all of humanity, when the same goes on on the grand scale it is occurring now it's just dangerous and outright treasonous.

Bouncers would not let my brother and his friends in a club (keep in mind they didn't get kicked out, they just couldn't get in), so his friends started a fight with the bouncers. I realize my brother could be guilty by association but he did not fight, so how could they charge him with battery? Also, he was the only one arressted because his friends ran. I guess he didn't run because he figured he was not guilty. I doubt the bouncers will recognize his face and vouch for him in court. Could he possibly get a plea bargin for ratting on his friends? What are the chances of fighting this case?

I had a very strong notion that major problem of India lies in over population.
But a long mentoring from my friend shattered my conviction. The problem may lie with over population but the main cause is the ATTITUDE. The Attitude of many of Indians is selfish, self centered, unpatriotic, currupt, oppurtunistic.
Democracy has become a laughing stock. India can survive and become world's NUMERO UNO country, if and only if illeteracy is erradicated.Every citizen of India must atleast be a metriculate.
then only India can get rid of some of the existing lousy, criminal minded , corrupt and unpatriotic politicians.

compulsory basic education changes Attitude which in turn takes the country into right path.
