First, "Latin America" is more than just Mexico. It's actually just about all the continent, except the US and Canada, and also includes the islands of the Caribbean.

THIS means "Latin America" can stake claim to musical styles of Reggae and bossa nova, musicians like Ibrahim Ferrer and composer Silvesrte Revueltas, Nobel Prize winning writer Gabriel García Márquez, just to name a VERY FEW.

As to Mexico, well both the Mayans and the Aztecs are from there. the Mayans are largely viewed by *anthropologists* as the most influential of all cultures indigenous to North America . They created mathematics and astrology, were considered master architects and engineers. More recently, Mexico gave us painter Diego Rivera and poet Octavio Paz. Food? Try tamales, or mole', a subtle chocolate and cinnamon sauce used on meat.

(FYI Mariachi was a bastardized import from Germany and rice and beans is Spanish.)

Guadalajara is home to the biggest International Book Fair in the Spanish-speaking world. Mexico City "offers" some of the most unique archaeological museums in the world. And there is my personal favorite, The Day of the Dead.

If you want to be racist, just be racist, don't try to validate it.

It amazes me how you and others say your simply against illegal immigrants and that your not racist, yet you bring up things like this. They have a very beautiful culture. People have tried to point things out already and to no surprise the anti's gave them a thumbs down. How sad, you can't accept the answers your looking for. If you went to mexico you would see what a beautiful place it can be. Its not all poverty. Even my stepfather who is stictly anti illegal still loves mexico and its culture, he spent 4 years there in archeology. With such a corrupt government though with poor education how do you expect them to turn out alot of great people? This question is very ignorant and racist whether you like it or not. If you didn't want to be racist then you shouldn't have only been against mexicans in it.
