This has become my viewpoint on the expectations I should have when evaluating liberal/leftist policies. Please correct me if I am seeing this incorrectly:

Rather than having my wages in my pocket and having the option of who I should help and/or give $$$ to, the government should assume that I am selfish with MY WAGES, and more of my wages should be FORCEBLY taken from me in the form of taxes and given to the poor (lame, crippled, blind...etc..)
