Do you have anything specific to say about the UN? I find that people assert a bare conclusion like "the UN is useless" are often just repeating this phrase, and cannot support it.

The UN should stand for USELESS NUMBSKULLS.by right it should be a political giant highly respected in the eyes of all peoples and it should be an organistion THAT IS FEARED BY TYRANISTS. If it had given the go ahead to go all the way to Bagdad in the 1st time sadam invaded Kuwait i believe we wouldnt have have the mess we no have .if in the 2nd IRAQ WAR had the UN fully backed up the US and the BRITTS with more troops on the way to BAGDAD,We would not have had so many pockets of terrorists to sort out ,in the aftermath of Bagdad being freed. And no matter what people say it was freed as 6 million people braved guns and mortar to actualy vote and here we are in the west half of us not even bothered to vote even if we were to purposely spoil our vote.Anyways here we are again the UN ,It stops ISRAEL from going the full way to sorting out the hezbollah(i should say the IRANIAN ARMY PLUS SYRIAN ARMY)which are trying to be a state within a state,It is my belief that the Israeli army has caught the UN with its pants down so i do hope that it will wipe its ar-- pull up its pants wash out its bad bad image and march onwards and be seen to march forward .TIME NOW TO GET IRAN SORTED ONCE AND FOR ALL ..AMEN

Having never met you, I cannot say whether or not you are useless. The UN, on the other hand, is certainly showing signs of uselessness.

The UN started out as a good concept with nobel intent. But over the decades, it's become corrupt. It's overall push is to support socialism. It's leadership have come under extreme suspicion for numerous infractions against ethical behavior (like the food for oil program).

If it were up to me, I'd kick them out of this country and force them to setup shop somewhere else, or disband.

while between the substantial countries that pushed for it fairly is formation walks away and tries to apply it as a lap dogs to bypass resolutions till they tournament US motive, i could say it could look ineffective the UN stands for human rights and the U. S. opposes that. evaluate what the U. S. used to stand for and attractiveness why you're putting baited questions that smack of a dittohead, people repeating issues they do no longer understand or havn't been around to establish the historical past unfold (under 40 years previous) if different countries do no longer enable help, there could be no usa which could tension it fairly is will fairly without international approval or attempting to bypass off it fairly is coalition as a 'prepared' team that right this moment set up save and started piping out oil one by ability of one any substantial usa that grow to be misinform like the voters people by ability of Bush and Blair has left, we've few allies and many nukes what do you think of is our next step? Iran? look returned see who's on sidelines after crying wolf and being caught in lies, even Collin Powell has backpedalled and now opposing the PNAC conflict mongers. ask why the guy to blame for our national protection grow to be promoted to Secretary of State - after failing to guard us from 9/11 and she or he had the information that for sure reported Osama grow to be motive upon harming us...Condoleeza Rice how are you able to get promoted after failing so miserably, now a candidate for President? even Bush Jr did this, failed Texas Governor, failed oil businessman, bankrupted each account and settlement yet yet finally placed into ability irregardless some thing is faulty

Thank's to VITO which gives the strong nations the right to run things on their way.....Strong nations don't respond to UN descisions like Israel. But when it comes to weak nations they become forced to comply...orelse they will be punished just like Iran and Iraq...It's the jungle world people...The stronger wins weather he's right or not..you have the power you rule ..This is how it goes with the UN or without it.

Yes and no.

The UN is the best and most effective humanitarian aid organization in the world. It is useless and ineffective in its mission as an organization for peace and cooperation.

The UN is a bullshit feel good organization to give comfort to the Naive citizens of the world. If you actually bother to look at it, it does nothing but try to restrict what an individual country can actually do.

the un is useless. it is a corrupt body of socialists who do nothing but take, and i do mean take, money from all the countries in the world that give to operate it. and, we, the united states, are the biggest contributor. they should be kowtowing to our ideas considering all the money they, all the coutnries, have gotten from us. they are in it for sex, money, oil, i am sure the list is long and disgusting, and whatever else they can take us for. i say its time to kick them out of new york and sell that prime piece of real estate to someone who can cash in on it!

kofie makes me want to vomit.

No, they're not useless, just next to useless. It's one of those strange ironies of life that as bad as it may be we're still better off with it than without it.
