Hi! My gorgeous 13-week-old bunny is on a diet of a rack of forage per day and 30g Excel Supa Bunny Junior, as recommended by our vet. My bunny loves salt licks! Would it hurt to give them to him? What are the health benefits? Thanks!

Is it easier to be confident around your own horse as you will know them well than at a stables where there are all different horses with different "personalities"?

Okay. I was up at the vet's office earlier this morning. My grandmother is the groomer and I didn't feel like staying home. A little boy, maybe 7 walked in. I was sitting in a chair reading Dog Fancy. The boy walked up and asked if the Doctor was in. The lady asked for what kind of animal and what services. He pulled out a pet carrier, the ones that are like $15 at walmart. He opened it carfully and pulled out a rock. You could tell he wasn't kidding. He was seious. He had a collar around its tummy (?) and said he wanted to get a clean bill of health before he gave the pet to his daddy to keep him in company at Rack (iraq). The lady sat there and laughed in his face. She said to go through it in the garden and stop wasting their time. Doctor -- was in surgery and I told the boy to go in exam room one. We looked over him. and I showed the boy how to give him a bath. We checked his heartbeat (thumping the back of the thing convinced the kid). Then I said all healthy. Then he left....

I want guinea pigs and want the best for them. I heard that Oxbow is the possible best pellets, vitamins, and hay for them. And when I mean pet stores, I mean Petco and Petsmart. I saw Petco selling Eukanuba dog food. I sorta think Eukanuba is dog food Oxbow. Weird xD But back to the point, do local pet stores sell Oxbow products?

My neighbors found a ferret running around in the parking lot today and can't find her owner.
They asked me if I want her because they are moving to a no-pets apartment. I feel like I should take her because I don't want to see anything bad happen to her, but I don't know much about them.
Would you take the ferret? I have been trying to hurriedly rush to do some research on them online, but is there anything I should know about them that might not appear on a general care sheet? Like something about their temperament and so on?

What does it mean when your bunny gives you a couple of licks?
I had my bunny out last night in the lounge room, and she was racing around like a mad thing, and I was lying on the floor on my stomach.
A couple of times she stopped next to me quickly licked my arm. No nibbles, just licking.
Does this mean that she likes me, or was she testing me out for food??
Mind you I had her food out along with her litter tray, so she did have access to food.

Can you tell me about the breed of rabbit the Mini Rex? For example, the problems, weight, length, life span, specific gromming tips, when does it shed, how much are they, how big the cage has to be, what food is good and bad, how much excersise they need, etc.

My husband and I had two mice, brothers who occassionally faught but overall did well together, living in the same cage. Unexpectedly Clive died a little over a week ago, so Grady is now left alone. We can't introduce a new species or a new mouse for fear of him killing either, what should we do to keep him from becoming depressed or lonely?

ok
my parents never let me have any pets growing up
and i wanted one so bad all my life
now that im in college and living on my own in my apartment
i really want a pet
im still debating if i should get a cat or a dog
at first i was gonna get a cat since half the day ill be at school and cats dont need as much attention (and more independent i heard) my friend tells me cats don't do anything and they get boring (you can't play chase or stuff like that as you can do with dogs) and cats can grow up and completely ignore you too. I am planning on adopting one and cats are alot cheaper which is better for me since I'm a student.

help me choose a cat? or a dog?

I'm so sick of seeing questions from pet owners saying their dog/cat is sick but they cannot afford the vet bill.
I understand in some situations people are going through rought patches, but I'm talking about the people who just got a puppy/kitten and it's sick and they cannot afford to take it to the vet- why in the world did they get a pet then?

This just makes me sick to my stomach and makes me want to cry knowing these poor animals are out there ill and their owners are too irresponsible to properly care for them.

This is why I had to stop looking in the Pet section the first time- it's just so upsetting to see these questions.

Does anyone else notice these things? Opinions?
