That is a good question. I had a rabbit for 8 years and i don't think i ever saw it sleep. I just assumed it slept at night when i did.

Rabbits sleep more that you think they do, if you forget and leave the light on all night see how upset they get the next day because they haven't had the sleep they wanted to have. Rabbits have thousands of years breed into them to flee the minute something comes near them, that is why when ever you go near their cage they are awake, but if you have them in a room that you spend hours and hours in and you are quiet you will notice that they do sleep. Mine actually sleeps quite abit, and the older they get the more you can catch them at it. Have fun

Rabbits don't sleep like we do, they take what is called cat naps, yet on a quite evening they will sleep longer than during the day

Rabbits sleep whenever they can! Mostly during the day, though! But they don't really sleep like people do, they have to be alert in case of trouble. They have the "flight" not the "fight" instinct.

It is very hard to tell when a rabbit actually sleeps, they are very light sleepers. Usually when their nose stops twitching altogether they are quite asleep.
Being prey animals they are always alert, so they tend to nap whenever the need arises.
