A relative of mine received a young male green anole as a gift about six months ago. A few days after he got it, he decided he didnt like it because he was unable to hold it like he wants to, and the poor little guy ended up in my care. I have done a great deal of research on the topic, but I am way over my head. He barely moves and is never green unless he sleeps. I have a heat lamp on the cage during the day( i was told to turn it off at night) I mist the cage when I can(i have classes during the day) but he just doesnt look healthy. when i first got him he would jump out of the way of the mist when i sprayed the cage, but now he just fliches. I feel terrible. I want to turn him over to the pet store but im worried that his condition will keep him from getting food when he is among his kind. I have great knowledge in other animals but I have absolutely no experience with reptiles. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can SomeBody PLEASE Foster!
Vollunter Quote-The shelter is running out of room for the cats and in their words "won't be able to fulfil our policy" if they can't find foster homes soon. This means our no-kill shelter might just have to make a few exceptions
So, to make more room at the shelter, I have fostered Peaches.-Quote

When I was little my mother volunteered to foster a tiger cub (part of her research in the university). We raised the cub for about 6 months before we return it to the zoo.

How do I do that in the States? Do I need to be scientist to be qualified? Do I need to have big yard or living away from the civillization?

Why do people hate rats so much, and get an attitude about people who own them?If we want them thats our business, You dont have to get nasty about it..

and before I get a bunch of answers of people saying "theyre dirty, they carry diseases, blah blah blah" Do your research. Pet rats are VERY clean, and do not carry disease. .......So you've obviously never owned one. So , what else is it? Personally I think theyre awesome.

I also think that if they had squirrel tails people would think they were adorable. .....Its not their faults that they dont have fluffy tails:P

I am looking for a cage for my Syrian hamster and they all seem so small. What cage do you have so that your ham can have a lot of room to play? Did you make one other than the rubbermaid tub ones? How?

I work weekends at a dog/cat boarding kennel, which means i am constantly in contact with a circulating bunch of ALOT of dogs & cats.

I am very paranoid, almost obsessive-compulsive, when it comes to contagious things such as ringworm & mange & other hideous little bugs that can be passed to humans...& there are a number of animals at the kennel that have hairless patches on their skin & other nasty looking little skin disorders [my boss just calls it "dermatitis" which could be what the owners have told them it is, & some dogs have medications for dermatological disorders....]

I HATE IT! I mean, I wash my hands alot while I am working there, but is there any other way that I can reduce my chances of getting ringworm from these animals [cats can even carry it without showing symptoms]. I am freaked out...it makes me itchy just thinking about it! it is not practical to wear gloves while working there.

I have a teddy bear hamster. It is a male. I have another 2 males and they are all friends; never fighting or ignoring each other. I checked the food and water for anything. I tried moving the tank into different places. What's wrong?

Of course the chick is wet still but on its belly it has a cord attached to a small dryed up looking sack. Do chicks have umbilical cords like dogs? if not what does this mean?

I bought a guinea pig 5 days ago and he has a cage and all his stuff in it, but he didn't have a hiding place, so I got a box and cut a hole in it. he liked in and everything but now he's barely coming out of it, when I take it out he starts eating and drinking. What should I do? Take the box out for good? Or leave it? Also when I take him out of the cage and let him go on the floor he looks fo a place to hide. Is that normal? I'm really concerned, so plase help me. Thanks!
