all on the sudden she got all big and fat and i didnt no what to do i fed her and gave her water but the next day she died

Swelling like you describe could be kidney failure.
Usually, when the little guys die, you never know what killed them.

the only sure way to know is to see your vet, or maybe look up gerbil illnesses on the internet. sorry for your loss :(

It all depends but she may have eaten bread, or paper since you said she got big and died.

there are many things. Perhaps ascites from liver failure.
