I have two house rabbits and they both love to devour anything that happens to fatefully fall within their grasp. They have free range of our upstairs and love to chew on our baseboards. I know rabbits are supposed to have a lot of inventive toys and chewing options but what is something I can give them that is cheap and will amuse them. I heard somewhere that a big phone book is a good idea, but is eating that much paper really safe for them? What other kinds of paper can I give them and will ink harm them?
I stuffed crumpled newspaper into a small space to keep them from getting into unwanted areas where they chew my carpet and get stuck, but they immeadetly had a lot of fun pulling it all out and getting at the carpet again. Is there anything else I can stuff back there that they won't take out but is still safe for the occasional nibble? What can I do with newspaper which they seem to love to play with? Thank you so much!

Right now my family has one incredible dog, and a truly wonderful cat. But, due to health problems and a busy life in general, keeping up with the constant pet fur is getting to be too much. Once these pets are gone (they are both nine years old and really showing it), I'm thinking that a rabbit is our best choice of pet. Is there much difference between the different breeds? Which is best for a busy family?

I have a 23 year old senior mare, who is an morab (arab-morab corss). She needs to gain to make me happy about 50 lbs. She gets the best hay, senior feed that costs like 17 dollars a bag, complete horse sweet feed, and oats. Once in a while she gets cracked corn. It doesn't help that she is 7ft long, and has the longest legs in the world. She is all legs!! And she has the longest abdomne I have ever seen!! So I know that contributes to it, but it is not all of it. She has good teeth and is in good health. She is stall fed since the horse that we board is a huge pig and will chase her out of her feed. And she is wormed. So I don't know what to do with her. Or is there something I should be feeding her?

Horse experts, please help.

We have 2 pet rats in my preschool class but they stink up the room. We have gone threw 3 cages just to find one that would be easier to clean and not smell. We always keep the cages clean, but they still smell! I just put them in a brand new cage today, the top comes off easily so the bottom is very easy to clean, but I swear - it smelled after 5 minutes of having them in there!

They are litter box trained, but only for #2... they still pee anywhere they want and I guess that's the problem.

Any advise?? The kids love the rats but they'll have to go if they continue to smell stinky. (I mean the rats will have to go, not the kids, lol).

i put my hand into the cage to pet him and he BIT me, i took my finger out, in shock, and he was still attached to it and he flew with my finger and landed on the FLOOR!!!! he played dead and rolled on his back for a few moments, then he woke up and i noticed it was hard for him to walk (couldve been because he was on hard wood floor?) so i picked him up gave him a sunflower seed and put him right back in his cage, at first he just sat there breathing heavily but once iturned the light off left him alone for a few, i came back and he was walking on his wheel, and took more food from my hand. i was wondering how i would know if hes okay or not? anyone help please=( im feel so horrible right now

My boyfriend used to have an indoor cat. Recently the cat left, but now we have fleas in our apartment. The cat was never outdoors and all of a sudden they are everywhere! I need to get rid of them, and fogging didn't work the first time. Anyone have any ideas, any useful tips? What worked for you?

I have a great walking horse that I've pretty much trained myself, but I'll most probably being going off to college in a different state...so naturally I want to take him with me but that's too expensive. But I don't want to leave him at home, because no one will ride him. What should I do?!?

A pet is like a very small child who can't tell you what is wrong. I agree that I go to the pro's when in doubt or in need of prescription meds. But give guidelines. If you need to ask here, probably you should ask a vet, but the expense could really hurt pet ownership in general. The newer you are to the type of pet you have, the more you need to have Qs answered by someone who actually sees your pet, but every little thing, come on folks, do you go to the doctor that much?

Do hedgehogs make good pets? Give a little back ground info. Are they smart, do they bite? Anything

When I first got him, he didn't bite. But ever since he tried to escape, when I put my hand in the cage, he'll sniff it and eventually bite it. He didn't used to do this before. What can I do?
