i'm just moved to a new house with land and i'm soon moving my horse there too. i don't want her to be alone when i'm not there and i read about the horse buddy system. does anybody know where i can a good, trained horse(western) that's cheap to put in the pasture with my 5-year old quarter horse. it has to be close to memphis, tennessee(no more than 2 hours away) or somewhere that can give me pictures and acurate information about a horse. i need a warmblood horse that works well with kids and is easy on trails and roads. i will also need the horse to do western competition(i don't know what kind yet)--thanks

Two years ago my 18 year old baby brother died. My mom, myself, and my sister all mentioned to eachother about the ladybugs that seemed to surround us at this sad time. So now, ladybugs are somewhat spiritual or symbolic of the love we all had for my brother. I came up with the idea of raising ladybugs (if at all possible) and then letting them all fly away either on his birthday every year or every anniversary of his passing. Can anyone tell me how to breed ladybugs? How do they live? What do they eat? What kind of tank or container should they live in? What should the temperature of their environment be like? Should I just catch 5 or 10 and put them together and just hope I've caught at least one of each sex? What are my chances of successfully being able to raise ladybugs? Thank you for your help.

I just sold an eight month old silver dapple miniature fillie to a customer for $8,200, and she said that her vet thinks it has carpeltunnel. I had the mare vet checked by two different doctors, x rayed and inspected and they did not find anything wrong with her and neither one of the doctors has ever herd of carpeltunnel in horses and say her x rays showed no problems. The mare took several firsts at various horse shows this past season and everyone told me she was gorgeous and superb. The buyer was not mad because her vet offered to buy the horse and "take it off of her hands" for 1,000 dollars. I think she was scammed, and her vet took advantage of her and picked up a nice pony for a great price, am I right?

I raise show llamas and goats. Occasionally I'll have potential buyers here to look at them, that I feel won't be able or willing to provide appropriate care. I'm very picky about who I will sell to. How do I go about tactfully turning buyers away? (Hopefully without making them mad, since they obviously know where I live if they are here looking at my animals.)

My husband has a completely different outlook. He thinks if they are willing to pay what I'm asking, I should just sell. I prefer to hold out until a buyer that I'm comfortable with comes along.

Experienced horse people only!

I've been around horses all of my life but have never boarded them, so I was wondering what kind of questions I should ask the people that I'm calling to inquire about their ads. Off of the top of my head I can come up with these questions, but I'm sure there are more, and I want to make sure that I don't completely miss something due to inexperience in this area.

- Cost per month
- Type of plans available (I'm looking for a pasture boarding situation with a shed, not interested in stalls)
- Size of shed
- How many horses per pasture?
- How far away
- Who feeds the horses (owner or property owner)?
- If property owner feeds, what grain is availabe and do they separate the horses
- Is hay and grain included in board
- Riding arena or roundpen on property?
- Requirements for the horse (i.e. current coggins, shots, etc)
- What type of fencing do they use (barbed wire, wooden, pipe, etc)
- Size of pastures

There are others but Yahoo limits your characters

A week ago a mouse appeared from nowhere, ran through my living room and hid behind the kitchen counter. I have put out a mouse trap but in vain! There are no mouse droppings to be found. How do I know whether the mouse is still here?
