Why do normally reasonable people, honest, well educated, nice.
Think they can just jump into horse ownership..As a proffesional trainer and clinician for 25 years I have seen unintentional abuse inflicted on these amazing animals time after time, I have seen well meaning people bilked by national clinicians, who " accredit people" who only have the ability to write a check. I hear some fairly decent answers from time to time here, and find them summarilly ignored.. So someone can have a warm fuzzy given by the goo goo feel good set.

Horses kill people everyday, horses are crippled everyday,,,Horrible breeding descisions are made everyday. I understand horses, my question is why most horse owners refuse to properley prepare themselves.

Hi. Well I show cattle. I have a heifer who is the daughter of Mossy Oak. If you don't know that Bull he has EXTREMELY straight legs. Well this heifer has his legs. We put her out to pasture and she got bad. Just fell apart. (which I understand happens) But she was very thin. You can't see bones, but she is thinner than all the other calves (and they aren't show cattle) We figured it was those darn legs, the hurt her. Okay. So she was put to pasture and was bred. We had her preg checked. Okay so she is about 7 months today. (due in december-january) I went out today, she had a HUGE bag, very tight. But her stomach was flat. I also noticed some junk hanging from her rear, but it wasn't manure. My mom thought she may have aborted the calf and it was the afterbirth. We looked around for an hour or so and couldn't find a calf. But we also have dogs..so they might have taken it? Btw she was in a medium sized lot after we found she was pregnant. My question is does it sound like she has.....

My rabbit's right eye isn't opening all the way, and there's some brown liquid coming out from it. my mom thinks it's a bug bite, but im not sure. it seems to hurt. the rabbit, peter, stays outside most of the time so it could be some kind of bite. and again, the eye has some kind of brown liquid coming out and it's eye doesnt seem to want to open all the way. please help, and only serious answers please.

My boyfriend was vaccinating cattle and got stuck in the hand with the needle. It's not bleeding nor is it swelling, but it hurts pretty bad.Is the vaccine harmful to him, or , merely irritating?
