Try this, it's a long shot, but may work.
Get a 5 gallon bucket, something to use as a ramp, and some apple or an orange.
Put the food in the bucket, set the ramp on the bucket and leave it out over night. Hopefully, if you are lucky, the hamster will go up the ramp after the food and jump into the bucket, caught because he can't climb the sides of the bucket.
Good Luck.

as a long term hamster keeper the best thing to catch a hamster is to set a friendly trap find a deep bucket put shavings in the bottom and some food. stack cd cases or books up to the rim so they create a mini stair case on this stair case place tiny bits of food at random distances. leave it over night or at least 24 hours and hamster should be found at bottom of bucket sleeping. P.S don't just dive in bucket to retrive hamster it might have had arough couple of days and want to bite you.

i lost my hamster too--it had been about two or three day's and i found him in a rolled up carpet in our basement. what you should do is set aside a day very soon to seach the whole house stopping often to listen for scratching--also put some food out and possible the cage so he doesn't starve, and there's a 50 50 change he will find a better bed in the cage at night. I'm so sorry and i hope you find him soon!

Forget about putting food out, he will find food any where, he will be looking for water mostly so do the bucket trick, put a small amount of water in a bucket and place a ramp on the side, so he can get in but not out!, i lost my hamster for two weeks and this is how i got him back, good luck hun.

when I was a kid we would get a tall box put food and water in it and a board as a ramp for the hamster to climb up to the top. The hamster always seemed to find its way into the box but never out! Good luck

First off look for droppings, you'll know where about he is. Then put some hamster food in a large jar and prop it up against a book, so the hamster can get into the jar and not climb out. If not look for a nest in small places, behind dressers and such. These both worked for me!

It happened to me. It escaped from its cage and went down a hole by the garden wall. I just left the cage in front of the hole with some food. It went back in its cage after two days.. Keep a watch out if you try this as it will only stay inside the cage for as long as it takes to eat.

Sorry to hear that, I really hope you find him soon, give it a few more days, if no luck, then just go, and buy another one, and if by pure luck you do manage to find your missing Hamster, then you will have 2!
