Does a mare usually come into heat (season) again after she is pregnant? How soon can I tell if she is pregnant? She was exposed to my stallion about 3 weeks ago and is still with him but now she doesn't seem to be interested or be in heat any longer.

http://www.esnips.com/nsdoc/f1fdbbeb-0f26-4d46-9466-8874dcd2173e/?action=forceDL was the link i couldnt get up, the problem is my rats make this wierd heavy breathing, like they have alot of fluid in thier nose, and i think it might be sick, has any of your healthy rats ever made this noise? also, does anyone know of a vet who treats rats in Ontario CA? he usually makes this noise when i pick him up, and sometimes he seems to not like the idea of being lifted, he squirms. i cant find a cause for this, the bedding is like paper, only kinda fluffy, like recycled cardboard, nice rat nesting stuff, they get all the fruits and veggies when i make my morning sandwich, they are about 1 1/2 to 2 years old, so age might play into this, also, about how much does a visit to the vet cost for a check-up? meds? im really worried, there isnt a draft, they just got cage cleaned 2 days ago, i dont over feed them, and they are on a dresser like headboard thing, i modified it for to be a shelf.

This phenomenon crosses all boundries- old spinsters, gay couples, young selfish women, lonely men. It's unreal. People treat their pets like children: clothes, hats, spas, daycare, totes and carriers, hotels, (no joke), language, motivation, summer camps! The dog has become a replacement for a child especially among young selfish types who don't want the sacrifices that a child demands. Yet, they talk about their pet, carry photos of their pet as if it were their spawn. Then you have all the celebrity bimbos with their freakish miniture dogs stuffed in thousand dollar handbags. This society has reached terrifying decadence. I'm not religious, I hate religion, but the culture of death is present in this trend. Is there a psychological explanation for this?

Of what value on earth are the skunks? You can't have them
as pets, they always stink yet no one can bathe them, and I
don't know of what good they actually are. If you know, please
put it in writing for me.

I actually kept seventeen land hermit crabs in two terrariums. I think it was cool that they were rather gentle and seemed to like attention and handling...a couple of them actually liked to walk up my arms and rest on my shirt. Land hermit crabs are a challenge to keep successfully, and many of mine died after a year or two of keeping them, even with the care I gave them.

Just died. I only had him for 9 months, I usually keep him in my room and I noticed he made a high pitched noice I went in there and he stopped breathing, he was just laying up against the edge of the cage. I'm so sad. What could cause him to pass away only 9 months after I bought him?

I went into the cage today, picked him up, and i guess from the stress of moving to a new house a few days ago, he got some kind of build up, see http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060906234732AA0u08d for details. anywho, i never got to ask why he breaths so heavy, ill try to record it with my microphone and edit it so you can hear it. you can go here for it, copy paste it into the address bar.
i dont know if this is a usual noise that they make, please listen to is so i can confirm you dont get confused by some other problem he might have.

I have a 9 yr old ottb that has done this twice now. He goes into convulsions and acts like he has colic but does not. He won't eat very much and he looks at his belly often but is still passing manure. He lays down often also. He did this last fall too but ended up getting stuck under a board and it resulted in him colicking, but he hasn't colicked this time. Please help.
