three boys all over eighteen beat a dog to death. and the police know but they arent doing anything about it. is there anything i can do to help them get punished for what they did?

I have a 2+ year old that I am trying to train... have trained several horses, but never had this problem where nothing I tried worked... wondering if you had any suggestions.

He refuses to take a bit... he is fine with halters, even fine with things in his mouth such as ropes, sticks, etc.... but if he even sees a bridle, he leaves.... if you catch him and try to put it on him, he raises his head to where you cant reach him... if you are still getting close, he runs through you... over you, whatever he has to do... He rides ok with a halter and lead rope or bosel but it is the point of the matter.... Any suggestions on getting him to mind. Also, I have had it on him before, and when I was driving him and attempted to turn him, he would literally fall over due to fighting me... what do I do about this? I have had him since he was a baby, so I know he hasnt been abused with a bit or anything... Please only experienced people answer....

Green broke mare, won't whoa at the bit easily. Help?

I'm half leasing a 3 yr old Palomino Quarter Horse mare. She's green broke.
Currently, I'm working on turning her with leg commands, less with the bit. The owner doesn't want a harsher bit either.

So yesterday I went out and rode her, and I was at a canter, and I want her to stop. So of course I pulled on the bit, saying whoa. And then she wouldn't, so I'd get a little tougher. But it seemed to take FOREVER.

I've had 2 years of pro western training, and so I'm used to WELL trained horses.
Normally I'd gather her up with the reins, but she has her head(and neck) straight) it's beautiful, but.... I need to get her to stop....


Does anybody have any ideas????

When I first got my rabbit, he got out of the cage for about 2 hours and my cats had a field day, chasing him and such. My rabbit suffered a small puncture wound from this. Now, I am more careful. My cats don't seem as interested in him anymore (its been about a month). They don't hang around his cage anymore like they used too. Can I trust them together? What should I do?

I have a ferret and I let him run loose as I do with my cats he has a cage but only goes in to sleep and or if he is in trouble. About a week ago he get under the sofa and got smashed, his whole neck was being smashed by two metal bars under there, I found him and took him to the vet. The vst told me that he would be fine and that it was just going to be swollen and we gave him some shots and I gave him steriods for a couple of days its been about a week if not longer and his neck is still extremly swollen and he walks kind of funny now and is alot less active then he used to be also I find him sleeping more often and eating less, the vet kept saying he would be ok but i am still worried, any thought on what should be done now?

for the past few days, my gerbil's progress has been worsening. it started last friday i think, when he went limp and he can't walk on his left hind leg. but now, he just lies there with his left feet up, probably because it's too painful for him. what we do is we just feed him his favorite nuts (pumpkin seeds) and once in a while bring the water over him if he wants to drink. my sister and i are still hoping that the leg will heal and he'll be ok, but it seems like there is no progress at all. right now, he just lies in one spot. he can move his arms, but he could not get up and needs assistance and cannot eat on his own.

now my sister and i are debating... she still hopes he will get better, but i cannot bear to see his suffering and want to bring him to a vet to put him to sleep. have you ever had any pets that was put to sleep? did you have to pay for it? and how much did it cost? i feel sad -- i've always had a hard time dealing with change and loss, but we have do it

I live with my mom and my sister. My mom had a turtle and my sister and i both had our own hamster. My moms turtle died on june 7 2006, my sisters hamster died on june 17 2006, and my hamster died on june 21 2006. does anyone think that is weird?
